Mořic Grimm

< p > Moric (Maurice) Grimm (3 April 1669 Achdorf u Landshutu, Bavaria - 17 June 1757 Brno) was a Baroque architect and builder of German origin. However, he spent most of his life in the Czech countries and especially in Brno, where he realized most of his works. < / p > < p > There is not much information about his youth, he gained experience probably in the home environment and probably also in Austria. It first appeared in the territory of today's Czech Republic in 1690, when it was recorded by registers of the Prague Old Town Masonry and Stonecks Guild. In 1704 he and his wife Vorshila and son Jan Jakub moved to Brno where he remained for the rest of his life. He became a township of Brno, lived in today's Capucín Square and buried in the Capuchin tomb under the monastery church of the Holy Cross. < / p > < p > Construction company, which he founded upon arrival in Brno, built many buildings mainly in the main Moravian city. Around 1750 he left it for his advanced age to his son František Antonín, who continued his construction work with his associate Bartholomew Zintner. < / p >
