On a promontory above Ketkovický stream, on the northwestern edge of Senorady, a fortified settlement of the vanished Senorady castle has been preserved. It is sometimes also called Šance.
The fortified settlement consists of two hillocks about 23 meters apart from each other. The smaller one is circular and measures 15 meters in diameter. The larger one has an oval shape measuring 28 by 14 meters and rises above the surrounding area. Both hillocks are surrounded by a moat 4 to 9 meters wide and an embankment. The easiest access leads from the east side, while the slopes are very steep from all other sides. The castle structures stood on both hillocks and were probably made of wood.
The castle probably originated as early as the first half of the thirteenth century. The first written mention of the village of Senorady itself comes from 1349, but the castle is mentioned only from 1398. At that time, Henry the Third of Lipá and John Ptáček of Pirkštejn were quarreling over property in Senorady. In 1415, John Ptáček sold the village together with the castle to Hanuš of Lipá, and both thus became part of the Templštejn estate. Sometime after this sale, the castle fell into ruin and is mentioned in sources as abandoned. Later it became part of the Moravský Krumlov estate.
