Koníčkův mlýn is a monument-protected water mill from the second half of the 18th century, located in the Újež u Příhonice and since 1974 belonging to Prague. He stood on a drive leading from the Botič stream to the Mill pond and represented a uniquely preserved type of village mill in the Prague area.
The oldest written record of the Renaissance-style mill estate dates back to 1591, but it dates back to the second half of the 16th century. The area probably suffered during the 30-year war. A new Baroque estate is confirmed by the 1672 document.
The main building of the mill was walled, storey with a mansard roof and wooden shield. The interior was equipped with a mill from the second half of the 18th century, a tile stove and an oven from the 19th century. The whole complex consisted of a collection of residential, operational and economic buildings, including eastern and western economic buildings, a barn with a glued port and entrance gates with segmental encapsulations from the beginning of the 19th century. The environment also included a carriageway and a baroque-origin drying room with major ports.
The building underwent reconstruction in the second half of the 18th century, which is confirmed by the years 1768, 1789 and 1799. W.K. 1828 was inscribed on the facade in 1828. Other modifications took place in the 19th and early 20th centuries, while in the years 1946-1947 a residential building with a descriptive number 2 was planted in the northeast part of the complex.
In 1964 the mill was entered into the register of monument values. However, the protection of individual parts has gradually been abolished; the protection of the main building, which became a mere torsion, was abandoned in 1996 and the protection of the residential house was abolished in 2011. In 2014, the original historical buildings were completely removed. Demolition, which began at the end of 2013, led to administrative proceedings for the imposition of a fine and the filing of a criminal notice by the National Heritage Institute.
On the site of the original site is now a new building from 2015, which was created on the original floor plan and mimics the appearance of historical buildings. Despite the removal of the original substance, it takes monument protection of the object.
The site remains a witness to the historical water management around the Botič stream. If you visit this place, you can imagine a typical estate area in the landscape.
