Myslejovice is a medieval castle ruin near Březina's military area in Jihomoravský kraj, Czech Republic. The site features remnants of an oval fortification with a partially rock-cut moat and a central mound that may have been part of a building or tower. First documented in 1360, Myslejovice reflects the architectural styles and noble power dynamics of late medieval Bohemia. The castle likely fell into ruin by the end of the 14th century but remains intriguing for those exploring the region's past.

The origins of Myslejovice date to when Bohemia was part of the Holy Roman Empire under Charles IV, known for political stability and cultural development. Although specific construction details are sparse, historical records suggest it played a role in consolidating noble power during this era. The first documented mention dates back to 1360, indicating its existence as part of broader architectural developments.

Architecturally, Myslejovice featured an oval structure surrounded by a partially rock-cut moat, reflecting typical medieval fortification techniques for defense and territorial control. The eastern part of the fortification, including the moat and central mound, has suffered damage due to quarrying activities, altering its original form.

Ownership changed hands several times in the late 14th century. Initially owned by Stach, Mikeš, and Viknan, it was sold in 1374 to Ješek Kropáč z Holštejna. In 1391, Petr z Kravař purchased Myslejovice, marking another shift in administration. These transactions highlight the castle's value as a noble asset during this period.

Key events include its first documented mention and subsequent sales between notable figures of the time. The site was first described by František Faktor in 1897, bringing it to broader historical attention. Archaeological research by A. Prudká in the 1980s uncovered undated prehistoric finds and evidence of a medieval settlement from the 14th century, adding layers to its history.

Today, Myslejovice remains within a military area, making public access generally restricted. Despite this limitation, it holds significant value for historians and tourists interested in medieval architecture and history. Its ruins offer a glimpse into the past, inviting visitors to imagine the lives of those who once inhabited or controlled these lands.

Myslejovice stands as a testament to the region's rich historical tapestry, offering insights into the architectural and social dynamics of medieval Bohemia. While access may be limited, its enduring presence continues to captivate those drawn to exploring history's remnants. Visitors are encouraged to appreciate this monument not only for its physical remains but also for the stories it holds within its walls.

About one kilometer west of the village of Myslejovice, on the edge of the Březina military training area, there are remains of a vanished castle. It stood at the end of a promontory, locally called Zámčisko, at an elevation of around 390 meters. A quarry has damaged part of the site today.

The first mention of Myslejovice Castle dates from 1360. The owners at that time, Stach, Mikeš and Viknan, sold the castle along with the village in 1374 to Ješek Kropáč of Holštejn. In 1391, Petr of Kravař purchased the village of Myslejovice. The castle itself probably ceased to exist by the end of the fourteenth century, so its history was very short.

The site was first described professionally in 1897 by František Faktor. In the eighties of the twentieth century, an archaeological excavation took place there, led by archaeologist Prudká. It yielded only vaguely undated prehistoric finds and evidence of medieval settlement from the fourteenth century.

The castle was a single structure with approximately an oval ground plan. A ditch surrounded most of its perimeter, partly cut directly into the rock. However, in the southern part the builders left it unfinished. Beyond the ditch rises a hillock four and a half meters high. It could be the remnant of some building, probably a tower. The quarry later damaged the eastern part of the promontory, including the ditch and this central hillock.

Because the castle remains lie within a military area, they are not normally accessible to the public.
