House No. 100 is a half-grafted building from the end of the 18th century, situated on Jaronkov Street in Štramberk in Nová Jicin district. The building is registered in the Central List of Cultural Monuments of the Czech Republic and forms part of the town monument reservation.

The history of Štramberk shows gradual development - from the settlement with wooden shells in the 16th century, to the period of reign of Jesuits in the 17th century, to the creation of the first brick buildings at the end of the 18th century. House No. 100 was created just this time, shortly before the construction of the first brick house in 1799. In 1855, the city was hit by a fire that burned down approximately 40 houses and two barns.

It is a ground-floor semi-grafted object of a rectangular plan, oriented by a two-axis shield to the street. The building is built on a low stone suspicion that equalizes the inequality of the terrain. The construction combines grafting from carved beams with brick and stone parts. The saddle roof is covered with shingles and has a formwork shield, two casket windows and a crack. There are two plastered chimneys above the roof with a semi-circular end. The entrance is located in the east three-axis gutter side. The original two-part layout, forming a hall and a scar, was later converted into a triple.

During the 19th and 20th centuries the house went through modifications during which the damaged wooden system was replaced. The entry into the Central List of Cultural Monuments of the Czech Republic took place before 1988.

The monument today represents an authentic element of the city conservation Štramberka. It is proof of the development and traditional craft from the turn of the century. Visiting this object allows you to see the history of local architecture.

Welcome to Jaronkov Street in Štramberk, where you are in front of one of the most memorable buildings in the city - house No. 100. This historical object greets you with its silent beauty and tells stories of the past that have entered it.

You're standing in front of a half-gagged building with a rectangular plan, built at the end of the 18th century. This house is a part of the city monument reservation and occupies an important place in the structure of Štramberka. In front of your eyes, there is a low stone suspicion that balances the terrain inequality and gives the building a solid foundation.

Let's go into history. Štramberk has a rich past dating back to the 16th century, when a settlement with wooden shells developed. In the following century, the city went under the reign of Jesuits, which affected its development and architecture. The end of the 18th century brought a new chapter: a half-grafted building of the house no. 100 was built here. 1799 is important because the first brick house in Štramberk was built here. Many stories and mysteries associated with this building were formed even after the great fire of 1855, which hit the city.

Now pay attention to the architecture. This building combines the grafted parts of carved boards with a stone suspect, which is a typical approach for this period. Take a look upstairs and look at the details of the construction that suggests the masterful work of the unknown architects from that time.

Although specific historical figures associated with this building remain anonymous, their work and efforts are visible in every strut. This object is not only an architectural treasure, but also a witness to many lives and events that have taken place here.

The interesting fact is that House No. 100 was already entered into the Central List of Cultural Monuments of the Czech Republic before 1988. This shows the importance and protection that Štramberk has maintained for centuries.

I invite you to explore the city where every alley has a story. You will learn more about the rich history and culture of Štramberk. Whether you are here for a short visit or long stay, this monument will certainly surprise you with its deep history and architectural beauty. Thank you for your attention and I hope you will enjoy every moment here.

Tips for visitors

The most appropriate visit period House No. 100 are spring and autumn months when there are fewer tourists and the light on the facade is soft and pleasant. In summer the inner part may be hot, in winter it may be colder, so it is worth planning a tour of the sunny day with a mild temperature.

We recommend to wear comfortable shoes because part of the tour leads on uneven terrain, as well as a bottle of water, umbrella or raincoat in case of adverse weather. It is practical to carry a map of the city or mobile application with GPS to make it easy to navigate in the historical part of Štramberka.

Photography looks best on the front facade of the house during the morning or afternoon light when the sun hits the stone details. The inner courtyard offers interesting angles and shadows that create atmospheric images. If you want to capture the interior details, use a tripod or a stable holder to avoid blur with weaker lighting.
