What you see in front of you is not just a residential building, but a fascinating architectural hybrid. Hradenín represents a very interesting border. It is a place where the character of the claim meets the elements of a full castle. Feel this atmosphere of transition, when the original need for security and fortification began to slowly turn into a representative seat of nobility.

Now let's go back in time together to understand how this place came to be. Hradenín did not rise from dust destruction with one pop. Its roots go deep in history, much before the stone walls, as we know them today, started to rise here. Originally there was a court, which was the centre of economic governance in the area. The first written mention of this place dates back to 1398, which brings us to the stormy end of the 14th century. At that time, the landscape was full of similar settlements, but Hradenín was supposed to be something more. In 1409, the fort came into the hands of Rynart of the Sunshine, who left his mark. It's fascinating to think about how the function of this space has changed over the course of several decades. While in 1398 we talk about the place in general, in 1437 the sources of history explicitly mention the fortress. This tells us that during the period of Hussite wars and subsequent unrest, the need to fortify the mansion was absolutely crucial.

Now pay attention to the architecture itself. When you look at the overall form of the complex, try to distinguish between different ages in your mind. Hradenín is not the product of one architect but the result of continuous development. Notice the overall disposition. We are not here in a monumental castle with huge walls, but in a compact mansion that still resembles a fortress in its form. The key moment for today's appearance was the late Gothic reconstruction from 1483. It was during this period that goth began to change, becoming more detailed and complex. Even though we do not see all the details in the original form today, it is this stage that gave the construction its basic character.

Let's move on a little further in time. Around 1600 they came to Hradenína Nečanští z Minic. For them, the fort was no longer just a refuge, but a symbol of their social position. It was they who expanded the complex and brought in elements of the Renaissance. The Renaissance brought light, space and harmony. Now, if you look at the facade and the total mass of the building, feel the contrast between the strict Gothic curvature and the Renaissance desire for openness. It is this combination that makes Hradenína a rare example of the mansion. It's so said the bridge between two worlds.

Every one of these structures is connected to the people who gave her life. Hradenín has passed the hands of many personalities who have influenced the surrounding landscape by their activities. We mentioned Rynart from Sláštice, but other names like Mikuláš Písek z Hradenína or Reinhard z Müllhausenu appear in the anals. These men lived here, managed their lands, and probably faced the challenges of their time here. Later, Mikuláš Dax z Hammerštejna worked here. Each of them saw Hradenín a little differently and each added something of its own.

The turning point in the history of this place was 1663. At that time, the fort came into the hands of George Victor of Valstejn. He had a vision of a wider management of his property and therefore Hradenín joined the Manor of Chamber Castle. By doing so, Hradenín became part of a larger whole, which could mean a downturn of its own importance as a headquarters, but it also helped to preserve its existence for future generations.

Hradenín is located in the village of the same name, about two and a half kilometres from Plaňan in Kolín district. This slight distance from the centre of the village gives him some charm and peace. It is rare that an object has been preserved, which so clearly shows the transition from the medieval defense system to the modern-world housing.
