The Church of Visitation of the Virgin Mary is located on the square of ČSA in Albrechtice in the district Bruntál and is among the most valuable buildings of Upper Silesia. This late Baroque parish church is registered in the Central List of Cultural Monuments of the Czech Republic and protected since 1958.

In the place of today's church was since 1610 an older church which burned down in 1746. The renewal lasted five years - from 1747 to 1752. The builder of костела was Georg Friedrich Gans, Krnov townsman and experienced builder. Today's form of construction dates back to the last quarter of the 18th century and represents the late Baroque quality of its era.

Architectural is the most valuable facade oriented into the square. The western facade is decorated with a dominant prism tower. The church is built of bricks and its ground plan is a single-boat, cross-shaped, ending with a half-circle conclusion. The western facade of украuje a series of pilavers with composite headers, the middle part stands forward and is completed by a triangular shield. Side facades split the lizene frames. At the south side there is a rectangular chapel with semicircular closure, on the north side is a sacristy.

The interior in the Baroque spirit contains paintings from the painter Albert Adam on the altar. The fresco painting is ornamental with motifs from the scenes of the Marian cycle. The bells that are an inherent part of every temple have an interesting history. The original bells were not preserved. In 1909 three new bells were consecrated: Marie (593 kg), St. Family (310 kg) and St. Francis of Assisi (190 kg). But during the First World War, military governments seized them. In 1925, the church was equipped with four new bells, which were written by Rudolf Perner's South Czech bell shop near České Budějovice. The bell of St. Michael reached 1100 kg and 118 cm in diameter, the bell of Mary weighed 500 kg (95 cm in diameter), and the bell of Jesus 300 kg (80 cm in diameter). These bells are still protected as a cultural monument.

The Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary is a testament to renewal and endurance. If you visit the City of Albrechtice, it is worth crossing it, especially its richly divided baroque facade and quiet interior decorated by Albert Adam.

Welcome to the City of Albrechtice, where you are standing in front of one of the most valuable architectural pearls of Upper Silesia - the church of the Visit of P. Marie. This late Baroque parish church will immediately address you with its elegant front facing to ČSA Square, which is decorated with a dominant prism tower. Notice how this structure harmoniously intersects with the surrounding buildings and attracts attention with its historical significance and beauty.

Let's dive into the past of this place. Originally there was a church since 1610, which was tragically destroyed by the fire in 1746. This disaster led to the renewal of the construction, which began the following year, 1747. The Georg Friedrich Gans, whose work has left an unforgettable link in this place, is behind the architectural solution.

Now pay attention to the facade of the church. It is one of the most architecturally valuable parts that became the icon of ČSA Square. The granola tower that you see right now is its dominant element and attracts views by its impressive shaping.

In the interior, you will encounter a rich decoration of fresco with the Marian cycle, which was created by painter Albert Adam. These works of art add not only beauty to the church, but also a deep religious atmosphere.

The key personalities associated with this monument are of course Georg Friedrich Gans and Albert Adam. But remember also Rudolf Perner, whose contribution to the history of this place is not less important.

The interesting thing is that this church is among the most valuable buildings in Upper Silesia and is protected as a cultural monument since 1958. This status highlights its historical and artistic value.

I invite you to look at other parts of this fascinating place and let yourself be involved in an atmosphere full of history and beauty. When you return, it may be good to visit other sights around Albrechtic, which offer their unique attraction.

Thank you for your visit to the church of the visit of P. Marie and I hope they met here with a place full of history and beauty. Good luck with your next research!

Seasonal recommendations

Spring: In spring, the church's surroundings awaken to life and the new greenery gives the place a fresh look. The soft morning light beautifully highlights the details of sacral architecture and creates an optimistic atmosphere. We recommend taking layered clothes because morning temperatures can still be low. It is best to visit the memory of the morning, when the air is the purest and the minimum.

Summer: The summer season brings the longest days and intense sunlight, which falls directly on the facade of the building. In the main summer season there may be more people around the monument, so it is advisable to arrive early in the morning to avoid the greatest heat and possible crowds. Don't forget the sun protection and plenty of fluids while walking around.

Autumn: Autumn turns the surroundings into a varied palette of golden and brown shades, creating a calm and deep atmosphere suitable for contemplation. The morning mist can give the church a mysterious touch. For a visit it is ideal to choose afternoon hours when the sun shines low and the colors are the most distinctive. Prepare a waterproof and windproof jacket, because the weather is changing this time of year.

Winter: In winter, the church is very quiet and majestic, especially if the surrounding area is covered with snow. Light is weaker in this period, which can create a very spiritual atmosphere in the interior. It is necessary to take very warm clothes and quality shoes. Before visiting check the current opening hours, which are often shorter in the winter months.
