The Church of Our Lady of Victory is located in Moravian Žižkov, a small village in the district of Břeclav in the South Moravian Region. The temple lies at the crossroads right in the centre of the village and forms an interesting building dominion of this territory. It is a filial church of the parish of Great Bílovice.

It is here, in the place of the former municipal cemetery, that a building has been built that has completed more than a century long secvite of local inhabitants. Their attempt to build their own church dates back to 1875, although it was only in the last twentieth century. The crucial point was the visit of Pope John Paul II in Olomouc in 1997, where the basic stone of the temple was blessed. The construction itself started in 2000 and lasted only two years. The construction was financed mainly by the own funds of local believers obtained by means of a collection which was supplemented by an amount from the municipality itself. The church was consecrated on 17 August 2002 on behalf of Our Lady of Victory.

The construction in modern style offers an unconventional view of sacral architecture. The temple consists of its own church boat and a separate tower, which is equipped with three bells and a distinctive cross on the northeast side of the building. The tower and cross are situated in one line and creates a recognizable silhouette of the church. The main facade on the south side of the building lacks windows and is ended with a portal with massive doors that decorate the relief of crosses. The statue of Our Lady of Victory was placed above this entrance in 2006. While the front part of the church is cut-off, the rear part of the building has large windows that range from the ground to under the roof and provide sufficient lighting of the interior.

The inside of the church retains moderation and simplicity. The space is displayed in white with minimalist equipment where wooden benches and railings on bark equipped with organas dominate. Above the altar is a cross made of coloured glass, which is supplemented by living flowers in the altar part. The construction is accessible without barriers, so all interested persons can visit without restrictions.

Visiting the church thus allows you to know not only the modern form of sacral architecture, but also the fact that patience and focused efforts of the community will eventually be fulfilled. The temple is a living testament to the faith and determination of the inhabitants of Moravian Zizkov.

Look up and you'll see his distinctive tower, which boasts its clean cuts. It is a modern building with elements of Roman Catholic architecture which was completed in 2002. The church is built on the site of a former municipal cemetery and forms a separate structure with its own boat.

Let's dive into the history of this place. The creation of the Church of Our Lady of Victory is the fruit of an effort dating back to 1875. Although the intention was to build his own church long ago present in the community, only in the last years of the twentieth century did this dream become a reality. The key moment was the blessing of the base stone by Pope John Paul II in 1997, which laid the foundations for future construction.

Now pay attention to the specific details of this church. Its architecture is modern and simple, yet full of elegance. If you look at him from different angles, his symmetry and harmony can reach you. Although not known architects, their work is evident in every element of this church.

One of the key stories associated with this monument is of course Pope Jan Pavel II., whose participation in the blessing of the base stone was a crucial moment for the church. His presence gave not only religious importance to the construction, but also historical value.

The interesting fact is that although the intention was to build the church long discussed and planned, only modern architecture and religious events made it possible to implement it. This process shows the determination of the local community to achieve its objectives.
