Baroque sandstone crucifix with stone wall in the centre of the village Neděliště, district Hradec Králové, is an important cultural monument of the Czech Republic. Built in 1726 and protected since 2002 as a real-estate cultural monument, it highlights its historical and social importance to the local community.

This work of art comes from the Baroque period (half of the 17th - first half of the 18th century), known for rich ornaments, dramatic forms and emotional expression. In the Czech Republic this style was demonstrated by the development of cities and by the creation of many monuments with typical aesthetic elements.

The architecture of the crucifix includes a three-stage base, a low plinth with a profiled ledge, a blade decorated with volutes and ended with a ledge. On the back is an illegible inscription from 1930, ending with the words "Fixed 1930 / A... Pražková." The stone cross with a volute heel and three-leaf arms is decorated with a blade, the letters INRI hanging over the head of Christ. The statues of two angels at the heel were stolen in 2001.

The barrier from 1862 consists of a grate carved of stone, consisting of rectangular fields divided by smaller rectangles using rods and ended with a ledge.

The crucifix was restored in 1862, 1881 and 1930, which ensured its preservation. In 2002 he received official recognition as a cultural monument, highlighting its historical and artistic value.

Today the crucifix with the fence is accessible to visitors. Its preservation as a cultural monument allows it to appreciate the locals, tourists and historians. The visit offers the opportunity to explore the Baroque work in the context of Czech traditions.

This monument is witnessed by historical events and a symbol of endurance and resilience. Its protection represents an important step in recognition of the cultural heritage of the Czech Republic. The visit to the crucifix is also a reminder of the value of historical monuments for the present and future.

Welcome to Inseparable. You've just stopped at the heart of the village where time has stopped and something really special is waiting for you. Before your eyes, this baroque crucifix, built from a warm sandstone, is now surrounded by stone walls. Feel the atmosphere of peace and dignity radiating from this place. This stone cross is not just an ordinary element of the landscape, it is a silent witness to hundreds of years of history, which stands here and watches everything that happens around it. Feel the weight of history written in this sandstone.

Let's go back in time together now. Imagine 1726. That was the year this crucifix was first built. At that time society was different, life was slower and faith was a solid part of everyday existence. This crucifix was created during the Baroque period, which is a style that loves curves, movement and rich decoration. Even though this cross is perceived as a symbol of humility, its baroque presentation gives it some noble and dramatic sound. In 1726, people did not work with modern machines, but everything you see was carved manually, with great patience and respect for material. This crucifix was built as a spiritual center, a place where people could stop, think and connect with something higher.

Now pay attention to the details you have right in front of you. Take a look at how this building is built from the ground to the very top. Your eyes should first see the foundation. The crucifix stands on a three-stage pedestal. These three degrees create a solid and stable base that seems to rise directly from the earth and lift the whole piece to heaven. A low plinth extends over these levels. Note the upper part where the profiled ledge is drawn. It's the fine, carved line that gives the entire plinth a clear shape and elegance. And then, when you look up, you come across the blade itself, the vertical part that carries the cross. This blade is not smooth and simple. It's beautifully decorated with volutes. These shapes, these curved curves, are a characteristic feature of the baroque era and give the heavy stone a sense of movement and lightness at the same time. And finally, at the highest point, you see the stone cross itself. Look at his shoulders. They don't end with a simple cut, but they have three-leaf ends. These fine details give the whole crucifix a noble and very rich look. The whole of this whole thing is protected by a stone fence that creates a kind of boundary between the sacred and the ordinary world around it.

You might wonder who took care of this cross. Even though history has not given us the names of the particular architects or the names of those people who decided on it in 1726, their work speaks for themselves. These are unknown masters whose hands left their mark in the sandstone. But history tells us something else. This crucifix was not just once built and forgotten. In order to stand before you today in such beauty, he must have undergone many repairs. In 1862, 1881 and again in 1930, people who wanted this work to remain for generations to come took care of him. Each of these renovations was an important moment when time stopped to preserve what was beautiful and rare. These people, even though we don't know their names, were the guardians of this monument.

There's one interesting thing that might interest you, which gives this place even more weight. This crucifix is not just an old stone piece. Since 2002 it has been officially protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. This means that its value is recognised by the whole state. It's a real estate monument, which means it's firmly linked to this land, this village and this history. It's like an anchor in time that keeps us connected to our ancestors and what was important to our predecessors. It is proof that even this small detail in the center of the village can be of great value to the whole country.

You are facing something that has survived centuries, that has undergone many repairs and that is still here as a symbol of beauty and faith. Feel the quiet power of this sandstone and the work that people put into it hundreds of years ago. I hope this view of crucifix has brought you moments of reflection and peace. However, we now invite you to further explore the area. Continue your journey through the Inseparable and let yourself be carried away by the beauty of this place. Thank you for being with us. Goodbye.
