Langův dům, a single-storey townhouse built in 1542, is a cultural monument in Litovli on the corner of Přemysla Otakar and Masaryk Street. This oldest preserved right-wing object represents an important architectural monument to the Renaissance style, built as the seat of the wealthy party and city councilman Lorenzo Lang. The house is not only a cultural heritage but also a witness to historical changes in Litovli.

The creation of Lang's house dates back to 1542, when it was built as a representative residence of Lorenzo Lang. This sycamore and city councilwoman joined two previous Gothic houses in a single building which he lifted up on the first floor and decorated with a Renaissance portal. The portal is considered one of the most expedited urban early Renaissance monuments in Central Moravia. Langův dům was at that time an important building that exceeded the circumstances of a small town and reflected Lang's position in the company.

Architectural is Langův dům characterized by its Renaissance elements. The most important preserved element from that time is the portal in the front of the house, which is richly decorated by pilasters with composite headers and reliefs of flowers, fruit fruits, mascarons and gryphs. The inner spaces have preserved parts of the original vaults in passages, adding an impression of the authenticity and historical value of the building.

After Lorenzo Lang, the house became the property of several other prominent personalities. His holders included Jakub Sládek, Heinrich Voytik, Elisabeth Voytik and Jan Pilat. In 1623 the house was damaged by a fire, but already the following year he changed the holder to Jan Pilate. The other important owners were Tobias Hlušovský and Thobias Richter, who set up the shank here. In 1698, Anna Peterskecht bought the house, who married Anton Heyssiga.

The house has undergone several major reconstructions. In 1707 a Baroque reconstruction took place and in 1878 a classical reconstruction was carried out. These changes affected both external and internal parts of the building. The house was partially reconstructed in 1997, but the repairs barely touched the interior.

Today, Langův dům is part of the Litovel City Monument Zone and represents an important historical monument. Although partially unused, its architectural value and historical context make this object an interesting place to visit. Langův dům testifies to the rich history of Litovle and is a reminder of the time when important events and changes took place here.

Langův dům is not only a monument to architecture, but also a witness to the history of the city of Litovel. Its existence resembles the time when significant events and changes took place here. It is important for visitors to appreciate not only the architectural value of the building, but also the historical context that it represents. Langův dům is therefore an important monument worth visiting and exploring.

Welcome to Litovli, a city that still amazes anyone who enters with its beauty and history. Please stop for a moment and take a deep look at the atmosphere of this place. You're standing in front of one of the most important architectural monuments in the city. In front of you is Langův dům, a single-storey townhouse that stores several centuries of layers. Take a look at your location, you are located on the corner of Mohysla Otakar Square and Masaryk Street. It is this position that gives the house its unique character and makes it a dominant point in the space that now surrounds you. Feel how the paths of the old town cross here, and note how naturally this house fits into the surrounding urban monument zone.

Let us now return together in time, deep into the sixteenth century. Imagine Litovel in the year five hundred forty-two. It was this year that the house was built. At the time, it was not just the ordinary residence, but the representative residence of a man who played a very important role in urban life. His name was Lorenz Lang. Who was Lorenz Lang? He was a rich partner and a city councilman. At that time, the cloth and cloth trade was one of the main engines of urban prosperity. Being a successful girlfriend meant having influence, money, and social recognition. And it was this house that was supposed to be a visible symbol of this success. When you look at a building, don't just think of it as rock and mortar, but as a manifestation of the ambition of a man who wanted to anchor his position in Litovli.

Now pay attention to the architecture itself. Langův dům has been shown in the Renaissance style since the beginning. The Renaissance was a time of rebirth, a time when people were once again interested in harmony, affair and beauty. Look at the overall form of the house. Note its one-story disposition, which was typical of the then townspeople 'houses, but also sufficient for the needs of the wealthy family and business. One of the most important elements you should be focusing on now is the portal. The portal is the entrance part of the house and, in the case of Lang's house, it is considered one of the largest urban early Renaissance inputs in the whole area. Try looking at it in detail. It is in these details that the true elegance of the time is hiding. The portal wasn't just a functional entrance, it was basically a house card. Anyone entering the building must have felt respect for its owner.

But history never stands in place. Langův dům, like many other historical buildings, has undergone several transformations over time that have made it a fascinating book in stone. If you look at the building as a whole, you'll see traces of different epoch. In the year seven hundred and seven years the time for Baroque reconstruction came. The Baroque brought more dynamism, emotion and decorum to architecture. Although the house remained at the heart of the Renaissance building, the baroque interventions gave it a new touch, which corresponded to the then taste and social status of its inhabitants.

Time went on and came the 19th century. In the year one thousand eight hundred seventy-eight the house was re-edited, this time in the spirit of classicism. Classicism has returned to a more strict order, to clean lines and to inspire ancient architecture. This reconstruction has united the appearance of the house and given it the sobriety we feel today. It is fascinating to think of three such different directions meeting in one single building: a playful and harmonious Renaissance, a spectacular Baroque and a peaceful Classicism. All these layers form the present face of Lang's house. In the newer times, namely in the year one thousand nine hundred ninety-seven, the house went through a partial reconstruction to preserve the most valuable thing for future generations, including you, who are standing before it right now.

The interesting thing that may interest you is the fact that Langův dům is considered the oldest true house in Litovli. This means that its corner position and the structure of the year itself survived for five hundred forty-two centuries in a form that allows us to study the early urban architecture today. Imagine how many generations of people have gone through this portal, how many trade agreements have been concluded in these walls, and how many city councilmen from these windows have been watching the events in Přemysl Otakar. It's a place where the personal ambitions of Lorenzo Lang are linked to the history of the entire city.

If you stand before this monument today, you may ask why this house was so important. The answer lies in a combination of wealth, power and art. Lorenz Lang wasn't just a businessman, he was a man who helped run the city. So his house was not only for housing, but was the center of social and possibly political events in Litovli. Every detail, from choice of style to location on the corner of the square, has been carefully thought out to show stability and prestige.

Now that you know the story of Lorenzo Lang and know how this house has changed over the centuries, I suggest you observe it in silence again. Feel the contrast between the Renaissance base and later modifications. Try to imagine what the square looked like five years ago, what the voices of the merchants sounded like, and how the street smelled when this house was new in urban architecture. Langův dům is not just a building, it's a witness to history that tells us about the bloom of Litovle and the people who made it.

Imagine the walls of this house talking. They would tell us about the morning markets, the secret city councils, and the daily life of a rich guy. It's this ability to tell stories without words that makes Lang's house such a valuable memory. It's a bridge between us and the past that reminds us that even a simple townhouse can be a great work of art if built with vision and care.

Thank you for letting me accompany you to this beautiful building. I hope you were interested in Langův dům and that you found a piece of history in it that addressed you. We now invite you to further explore Litovle. Go through the rest of the square, pay attention to the other details of the surrounding houses and let yourself be guided by curiosity. Every stone in this city has a story to tell, just knowing where to look and how to listen. I wish you a pleasant continued journey and many new discoveries in our beautiful city. Goodbye.
