Forestry Zabelá is a protected building on the northeast edge of Pilsen, built between 1923 and 1924. Originally served as a forest authority for the Upper and Lower Záblá regions. Today, the building operates as a grove of urban forests and forms an important point in the educational forest path.

The construction was created during the period of economic stabilisation of the Czechoslovak Republic after the First World War. That's when modern directions began to be promoted in architecture, yet traditional folk elements remained in buildings of this type. The project is attributed to engineer Beneš, the actual implementation was carried out by engineer František German.

The object bears the hallmarks of folk architecture. The interior layout included a service apartment, office and attic designed for storing seeds and tools. The area is surrounded by a ornamental, fruity and vegetable garden, which is surrounded by a park with a circular pool. Growing trees such as pine limba, red-leaved beech, red-leaved beech or tisolic Douglas grow in the garden and in the surrounding forest.

The building is owned by the City Forests organization Plzeň and since 1996 it has been protected as a cultural monument. There has been a cruise restaurant near the forest house since 1889, which took the form of a paved building. It was closed during World War II and demolished in 1957.

Currently the building serves as a grove house and represents the fourth stop of the educational forest trail Zabelá. The location is located approximately 250 metres from the village Zabelá near the river Berounka.

Forestry Výbělá is a valuable example of purpose building with elements of folk architecture, which is still functionally connected to the surrounding nature. Visiting this place offers the opportunity to get to know the history of the administration of urban forests and to see interesting trees within the educational path.

Welcome to the forest house Zabelá, a unique monument protected building on the northeast edge of Pilsen. If you look around, you can feel the history and nature that intersect here. In front of you stands a building with characteristic elements of folk architecture, surrounded by a garden full of rare trees, a park and a circular pool.

Let's look at the origin of this place. In 1923, the construction of the forest office for the Upper and Lower Zábělá areas started here, which was completed a year later. It was a time when there were great demands for more efficient forest management, which led to the creation of such objects as this. Architects Beneš and František German brought their expertise into the implementation of this project.

Now let's look at the architectural elements that you'll notice. The building bears the characteristics of folk architecture, which can be seen, for example, in its premises and construction. There were originally service apartments, offices and storage facilities for seeds and tools. Note also the garden with fruit and vegetables, which provides a place of life and a view of the history of the local economy.

Although the specific personalities associated with this monument are not known, its importance is undoubtedly rooted in the social and economic conditions of that time. Forestry served as a centre for forest management and was an important place for the local community.

The interesting thing is that the building was declared a cultural monument in 1996. This highlights its historical and aesthetic value and ensures that we can also enjoy this place in the future.

I hope you enjoyed exploring this beautiful place. Although we are only the center of attention, there are many other mysteries and stories to discover.
