Vila Aloise Chlupačka Twins

Hlupaček's villa, also known as Hlupaczkov's or Hlupaček's villa, is a historical monument located in Krnov Textile Street. This Neo-Baroque building consists of a pair of villas (no. 155 / 3 and 156 / 5) built at the end of the 19th century for textile industrialist Johann Hlupaček and his son Alois. The villa is important not only by its architecture, but also by its rich history, which includes changes to owners, seizure during World War II and subsequent reconstruction. Today the villa is privately owned and is undergoing a gradual renewal.

The creation of the Fluffy Villa can be dated to the end of the 19th century, when investor Johann Chlupaček asked architect Ernst Latzel for two family villas. One was intended for Johann (No.156), the other for his son Alois (No.155). Both objects were designed in a neo-Baroque style, reflecting the prestige and wealth of owners during the industrial revolution. In 1923 Alois Chlupaček asked architect Leopold Bauer to build an extension to his villa to give the family more space. Bauer proposed the connection between the two villas and the implementation of this proposal took place between 1924 and 26.

The architecture of the Fluffy Villa is characteristic of the Neo-Baroque style, which is reflected in the ornamental floor plan and the Mansard roof with skylights. The original objects from the end of the 19th century have corner cylindrical turrets, ornationally framed niche with figures of female characters and combined double windows with mascarons, garlands and volutes. On the sides there are risalities with a shield, while in the garden facade we find glazed risalts and balconies. The extension from the 20th years of the 20th century provided the building with three windows, a double-wing curved staircase and a roof, which reflects a newer time of origin. The interior of the extension is rich in marble, silk and precious wood, with high stained windows decorated with motifs from the opera by Franz Wacik and a fireplace with a statue of Helius's sun car by Paul Stadler.

The history of the property of Fluffy's villa is rich in dramatic changes. After World War II, the property was confiscated by the family because of the Jewish origin of the wife Alois Fluffy. In the 1950s, the villa was owned by S. K. Neumann, where it served as a nursery, the office of the racing doctor and then the office of the company. In 1958, the building was declared a cultural monument, but in 1987 it was abolished.

Today, Hlupaček's villa is privately owned and undergoes a gradual reconstruction. The building is partially accessible to the public, especially during guided tours organized by the Tourist Information Centre Krnov. Although monument protection has been abolished, its history and architectural value continue to attract attention.

The furry villa is not only a witness to the rich history of local industry and family fates, but also an indicator of the architectural art of the neo-Baroque style. Its gradual reconstruction ensures the preservation of this heritage for future generations.
