Vila Niva, located in Pozlovice at the address Antonín Václavík no. 116, is a monument-protected ground villa with residential attic built in 1923. This historical object boasts its intrinsically preserved wooden elements of the facade and its original window and door fillings, contributing to its cultural importance. In 2006, the residential area with equipment, economic wing and land was declared a cultural monument.

Vila Niva was established in the years after World War I, when František Václavík was its owner. He completed the construction in 1923 and chose a historic style for it with elements of folklore, which reflected cultural and aesthetic trends of the time. This period was characterized by the search for national identity and revival of interest in regional culture in Czechoslovakia, which was also reflected in the ethnographic activities of the Václavíkov family.

The architecture of the Villa Niva is characterized by a rectangular plan with an enlarged terrace on the west side. The facade is closed with a Fabion ledge and the roof is semi-wooden. The villa has an open side arch of the terrace, asymmetrically located entrance with a half-circle glass granite and rectangular window openings framed by a shampoo. The windows are double-winged, caste, and the facade is decorated with cut plant motifs. The villa contains a massive skylight with one triple-wing window above the entrance and a wooden railing with decorative plant motifs.

The Václavík family has long been associated with the Niva villa. František Václavík, owner of the villa from 1923 to 2011, was taught by the tailor and after the wedding in 1919 he lived in the Villa Samostřelá. After widowed, the Luhačov Reformation Choir secured a training centre for its children. Antonín Václavík, the younger brother of František, became a respected ethnographer and professor of the letter at Brno University. Both brothers devoted their time to collecting and enlightening activities for the Provisional Museum of Slovakian Zálesí and the Museum Society in Luhačovice.

Vila Niva was the centre of interest of many cultural personalities who lived in Luhačovice. The painters František Hlavica and Ferdiš Dusha prepared the painting part of Václavík's national monograph Luhačský Zálesí (1930) in the villa. Director Svatopluk Innemann here made the scenes of the film opera U Saint Anthony with Jára Pospíšil, Jiří Dohnal and Hana Vítová Ljuba Hermanová (1933). In the villa lived painter Josef Šánová, who decorated porcelain and commemorative items burned in ceramic furnace. The villa also served as a basis for prayer meetings of members of the brotherly church.

Today, the protected villa Niva is in private hands, but part of the equipment has been moved to Luhačovický Zálesí Museum. Its history and architecture make it not only a cultural monument, but also a place full of memories of important personalities and events. Vila Niva is worth visiting for those who want to understand the rich history of the region and appreciate the artistic and cultural heritage that this villa has retained.

Welcome to Pozlovice. Right now, at this quiet moment, you're facing one of the most beautiful and most important houses in the whole area. The Vila Niva stands before your eyes. At first glance, it may seem like a simple, quiet house that harmoniously fits into the surrounding landscape of paradise, but believe me, under its roof and its walls, there is an incredible story. Can you feel the strange atmosphere? It is a feeling of a place that has seen many human lives, which has witnessed artistic creation and entertainment, and which still holds its dignity. Look at the whole building. It is a ground floor villa, which with its solid construction and residential attic is very stable and friendly at the same time. It's a house that was built to stay, and that's what really happened.

Now let's go back deep into the past together to understand how this house came into being. Imagine the year one thousand nine hundred twenty-two three. The world was changing very quickly at the time, but here, in Pozlovice, a new story began to be written. This year the construction was completed and its fate was closely linked to a man named František Václavík. He was the one who gave this villa her first name and who made her his home. Vila Niva was not just a brick and wood building, it became a symbol of a certain era when people tried to combine modern comfort with respect for tradition. František Václavík finished it at a time when architecture began to look back to the past, but with new energy.

Now pay attention to what you see right in front of you, right next to your face. Although the name of the architect who designed this house remains hidden in history in secret, his vision is absolutely clear and tangible. The style of the villa is historic. That means the architect didn't just want to copy the present, but he wanted to carry the legacy of older styles. However, it is not a rough or cold style. On the contrary, notice the subtle elements that it carries. They are elements of folklore, a folk art that gives the whole house warmth and humanity. Look at the facade. What makes this villa truly special and what makes it a treasure is its wooden parts. They are preserved to such an extent that they may seem almost untouched by time. These wooden elements provide the house with texture and depth, which you often will not find in modern buildings. And look even more carefully at the windows and doors. These fillings are original. In today's world, where everything changes and everything changes for new, you can see the original details are extremely rare. These windows and doors are like the eyes and mouth of a house that has seen centuries of people walking by.

But Vila Niva was not just a habitable house for one family. It also became a place where a great artistic mind met. Imagine those quiet mornings in a thousand nine hundred thirty. Two important men came to this house, the painters František Hlavica and Ferdiš Dusha. They weren't just visiting, they actually worked here. It is in these areas, under this light that falls into the rooms, that they have created an important national monograph about the Luhačský Zálesí region. Imagine them with tuals and brushes, in complete focus, trying to capture the soul of this region, its tradition and its beauty. The villa was an inspiration to them, a quiet haven where eternal artistic legacy could arise.

And that's not all. The stories of this place are full of magic. A few years later, in the year one thousand and nine, thirty-three, there was a real film scene. Director Svatopluk Innemann chose this very place to shoot parts of the film opera U St. Anthony. Imagine the scene where actors in costumes move around the villa, how the lights are set up, and how the reality of Zlovice turns into a theatre and film illusion for a while. Vila Niva therefore became not only a home and studio, but also a scene for telling stories that could then spread further among people.

Perhaps you are now being told why this house is so important that we must protect it. Since the year two thousand and six, this villa, including its economic wing, all equipment and the entire property, has been officially declared a cultural monument. That's a very strong word. It means that its value is not only in the material from which it is built, but in what it represents. It's protection for us and for those who come after us. Thanks to this protection, we can stand here today and admire the same wooden details and the same window fillings seen by painters and film creators almost 100 years ago. It's the connection between the past and the present, which is so rare these days.

Thank you for taking this time and for choosing to stop at this very monument. We hope that this brief insight into the history of Niva Villa has enriched you and that you have found something interesting in it. Don't forget to take another look at the beautiful facade and the original details before you continue. Continue to walk Pozlovicemi, enjoy the beauty of this place and pay attention to all the other treasures the journey offers. Goodbye.
