Brána zemědělského dvora Gate

Brána zemědělského dvora, a popular called Meierhof, is a classic building in the street Na Vysovice in Butovice. On 3 May 1958 it was declared a cultural monument (number 41226 / 8-2108) and represents an interesting proof of an architectural solution from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries.

The origins of the property in Butovice go far back. In the place of the first estate there was a state belonging to the heritable foetism, whose roots extend to the 16th century. This court stood at the crossroads of the main street (today Butovická) and the so-called Moravian Vole Road (today Moravská), near the chapel of Saint Anne. However, the steeped position in the inner village and the inappropriate location in relation to the property on the other side of the village led to a new decision at the end of the 18th century. František Xaver hrabě z Harrachu had a brand new court built on the hill in the northeast village, near the Church of All Saints. The new courtyard was connected to the original location by the driveway, which later became a street on the lookout. The old farmhouse remained in the possession of the High House.

The gate created here is an excellent example of classical style. The construction is characterized by a rectangular contour ended with a profiled ledge above which the shield is raised in two segments - the lower trapezoidal with concave bent shoulders and the upper triangle. The whole building is covered with bags, even along the lines. The passage is half-circled; The original wooden door was not preserved and replaced by modern ones. The decorative effect creates a pair of pilastres from each side of the pass that optically supports the roms. There are laurel festons above the passage and in the shield space, typical classical motif. The gate is connected to the remnants of the original wall by two lower posts, also covered by bags.

But the history of the construction was stormy. The original estate was transformed into an industrial facility over time, its buildings were rebuilt several times for agricultural or industrial use. In the 20th century, the area before the entrance was parked for family houses and the new entrance was built from the southeast side. The gate is now the border between the industrial area and the gardens of private houses. Its decorated facade is thus currently heading to one of the private gardens. Around 2010, the gate was plastered by the farm, a new door opening was inserted and the cover was repaired. Although it has an unusual location on the border of two worlds, it remains an interesting example of the classical architecture and development of the rural community.
