Černošická lávka Bridge

The Černošická footbridge serves pedestrians and cyclists. It connects Horní Černošice, that is the town of Černošice itself, with Dolní Černošice and with a place called Na Bluku, where the Bluk manor house and settlement once stood, not far from the Blukský mill and weir. Dolní Černošice belonged to Černošice only in the years nineteen fifty to nineteen seventy-four. Since nineteen seventy-four they have been part of Prague's Lipence, so today the footbridge actually connects the Central Bohemian Region with Prague.

The first attempts to build the footbridge began back in nineteen thirty-nine. However, it was not constructed until nineteen sixty-two. Its truss structure withstood all floods without damage except the one in two thousand and two. At that time an excavator hit it and the footbridge had to be reconstructed.

From the Černošice railway station, Kazínská street leads directly to the footbridge. On the other bank, it connects with the street Nad jezem along the river and Černošická street, which leads to Lipence. The cycle route number eighty-one hundred crosses the footbridge and also a yellow-marked hiking trail from Černošice to Kazíno.

In October two thousand and sixteen, Prague approved the purchase of the footbridge from the town of Černošice and became its owner. In December two thousand and seventeen, two days after the collapse of the Trojská footbridge, the Černošická footbridge was closed for safety reasons. The mayor of Lipence disagreed with this and people did not respect the ban. After a week the footbridge reopened when, on the suggestion of a structural engineer, the outer pillars received new braces.

Reconstruction began in the autumn of two thousand and twenty-one and continued in the spring of two thousand and twenty-two. The load-bearing structure and deck were to be repaired and the footbridge was to get a new coat of paint. The Technical Road Administration ultimately changed the work procedure so that it would not be necessary to completely close the footbridge and replace it with a ferry. The work was carried out by the company Metrostav. The repair was to ensure the safety of the footbridge for at least another five years. During that time a new footbridge design was to be developed.

For now, only an architectural competition is being prepared for the new footbridge, in cooperation with the Institute for Planning and Development of the City of Prague. Specific dates are not known. Černošice is planning for the new footbridge to be an entry point to the suburban park Soutok. According to the town, its architecture should respect the spirit of the place and the local villa development.
