Červinkovský dům in KolínA is one of the oldest monuments of the city, originally built as a medieval tower house in the middle of the 13th century. This historic building is remarkable for its architectural evolution through various styles and its multifaceted role in time, including serving as an almshouse and inn. Its importance is further underlined by its connection with Rudolf Kremlička, a renowned painter born here in 1886.

The origin of Červinkovský dům dates back to the mid-13th century during the early urban development of Bohemia within the Holy Roman Empire. The original Gothic structure of the building contained a two-storey arrangement with a unique two-room location on each floor, reflecting the wider European architectural trends of this time. Historical records mention the house for the first time in 1494, indicating its long-standing presence in Kolín.

Červinkovský dům has undergone significant transformations since its creation. At the beginning of the 16th century she experienced Renaissance renovation, followed by baroque modifications in 1648, which introduced arched ceilings with lunetted corners - a property that is still visible today. The late Baroque period brought further changes, including the Mansard roof and simplified facade. A significant reconstruction was carried out for the Regional Museum in Kolín in 1982- 1985, during which unfortunately some original architectural details were damaged.

The ownership of Červinkovský dům has moved over time with significant numbers such as the butcher Václav Červinka of Nymburka, which acquired it in 1703. His descendants kept possession for over a century until the house was seriously hit by a fire in July 1796. The building was restored under František Červinko, who made modifications to the late Baroque style.

During his history Červinkovský dům experienced several key events and curiosities. During World War II, she suffered damage by bombing in 1945, leading to concerns about its structural integrity. On the ground floor of the building are preserved remarkable architectural elements such as a barrel safe and a cross-ribbed vault from the mid-13th century. In addition, during the subsequent renovation, the Gothic entrance hall was divided into several rooms.

Červinkovský dům today serves as part of the Regional Museum in Kolín and offers visitors a view of the rich historical tapestry through various exhibits. The museum is based in interesting artifacts such as the late Gothic bell from the beginning of the 16th century and architectural fragments from the church of St. Bartholomew in the early 13th century. These elements stress the continuing legacy and cultural importance of the building.
