The heritage in Kácov is a Baroque building that originally served as a rectory and stands in the place of today's town hall. Its history dates back to the second half of the 14th century, when there was the first mention of the parish, to its present form in 1718. This monument is not only an important cultural object, but also witnessed many historical events that shaped the fate of Kácova.

History begins at the site of the present town hall, where the original parish was located. The first record of the parish dates back to the second half of the 14th century. Over the years, the rectory has undergone some significant changes, especially during periods of religious conflict. From 1420 to 1622 it was administered by the priests of the Utraquist faith and then in 1623 by Protestant faith. After these changes, both the parish and the church became orphaned, leading to the land belonging to the parish being leased to local residents and eventually registered as their property. In 1658, a Catholic priest was reappointed, who managed not only Kácov but also neighbouring settlements.

In 1714, Kácov hit an unprecedented flood, during which water reached the lower room of the rectory. This event highlighted the need for a new parish mansion. In 1718, under the leadership of the priest Nicholas F. Kratočný, the present Baroque deanery was built, which served as a permanent residence for the priests and their administration. The construction was financed by Mikuláš F. Kratochvíle himself and from the breath money because the local patron Count Breda was unable to contribute.

Architecturally, the dean is a one-story stone building in a baroque style. Originally, the vicar's residence was wooden with a stone suspect, but the new building from 1718 represents a more durable and functional solution. In 1978 there were extensive building modifications for the vicar Josef Socha, who left the rectory in 1982.

The heritage has been protected as a cultural monument since 1958 and is registered in a monument fund of the State Heritage Institute. In addition to the building of the Dean, economic construction sites, gate with gate and adjacent land are also protected. The building is valued with a valb roof, an ancient form connected to the roof with a ridge binding and a straw cover.

An important moment in the history of the dean was the establishment of the first memorial book Kácova (chronicle) in 1750 by the vicar K. J. Foršt, who served as a source of many important information about the history of the village. The historian A. N. Hair drew most of the data from this chronicle for his studies.

Today děkanství v Kácově is not only a monument, but also an indicator of the worst floods that have ever hit the village. The roof was repaired in 2016 and each of the new chimneys marked with a cross.

The heritage in Kácov is therefore not only an architectural monument but also a witness to many historical events and changes. Its history reflects the complex fate of the village and the whole region. For visitors it offers not only a beautiful display of Baroque architecture, but also an opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich history of Kácova and its surroundings.

Welcome to Kácov. You're standing in front of a building that's much more than just a cluster of walls and roofs. Before your eyes, there is deantism, a baroque structure that brings to this place a sense of peace, dignity and a deep connection with the past. Feel the atmosphere surrounding you right now. You may feel the weight of the time that has been flowing here for centuries. This building is not just a material object, it is a living chapter of history that took place here, and you are now a part of it. Look around you, perceive the silence of this place and imagine how many people stood before you and observed the same outline of the buildings, even though the world around them was completely different.

Now let's go deeper into the past together to understand why this place looks just like this. Even though this Baroque building appears to you as a firm and immutable point in the landscape, its roots extend far beyond what might appear at first sight. The history of this place, where you're standing right now, begins in the second half of the 14th century. This is the time when the city was still forming and when the first basic buildings were built here. However, it is important to know that there was no such deanery at the time. The original parish, the seat of the priest, was located in another place, where you see City Hall today. Imagine a long time ago when the needs of the local community and the church changed over time. The old spaces were no longer enough and there was a need to create something new, something that corresponded to the rise and meaning of this place.

Now pay attention to the architecture of the building itself, which now surrounds you. What you see before you is the result of a thousand seven hundred and eighteen. It is a typical example of the baroque style, which seeks harmony, balance and certain nobility. Even if we don't know the name of the particular builder who drew these lines and erected these walls, we can feel in their shape the intention with which the building was designed. Feel the structure, the balance the baroque brings. This building was originally meant to serve as a rectory, a home for spiritual trustees, and its appearance should reflect its importance. Even though her function has changed today, her baroque face still tells the story of a time when architecture sought beauty and that the buildings would act in the sense of stability and divine order. See her facade, see how the building floats in space and interacts with the environment.

But in order to better understand the soul of this place, we need to look at the people who left their mark. History isn't just about stones, it's about people. The key figure for the creation of today's appearance of deanery was the priest Mikuláš F. Kratochvíle. It was under his leadership and supervision that this Baroque building was completed in a thousand seven hundred and eighteen. He was a man who perceived the need for a church in Kácov to have a dignified and solid residence. His visions and efforts have become the basis for what you see today. There are other names in the history of this place, which are essential to understanding Kácova's history. Names such as Karel Hadrava or Norbert Procházka are firmly linked to the way this deanery changed over the years, how it was managed and how it became part of a wider region. These people were guardians of tradition and care for this place.

Now I want to invite you to listen to one interesting thing that may surprise you and make you think about the power of nature. The history of this place is not only about building and peace, but also about overcoming unexpected disasters. Already in the year one thousand six hundred fourteen, Kácov faced an unprecedented flood. It was an event that shook the whole community. The water was so powerful and relentless that it penetrated the lower room of the rectory. Imagine the horror and the power of the elements that hit this place. This event shows how fragile human works can be in confrontation with nature. Another interesting fact is that already in the year one thousand six hundred fifty-eight a Catholic priest was appointed here, who was responsible not only for Kácov but also for all surrounding settlements. This proves that this place has always been the center around which the life of the whole neighborhood revolved. And if you're interested in how all these events, joy and tragedy have been preserved for us, you must know that the first book of commemoration, the chronicle, has been kept here. This book is like a bridge between times that allows us to relive what happened hundreds of years ago today. Thanks to the fact that this deanery has been protected as a cultural monument since the year one thousand nine hundred fifty-eight, we can see this precious legacy carved into history as well.

I hope that this short journey over time has caught your attention and helped you see this building in a new light. You're standing in front of a place that has its own soul, that has its own secrets, and that still, although quietly, tells its story to anyone willing to listen. Before you go on your tour of Kácov, stop for a while, feel the silence and think about all the people who stood before you, all the storms and quiet days that this place has experienced. I wish you a beautiful and inspiring continued journey and enjoy every moment you spend in this wonderful historic environment. Goodbye.
