Hornická kulturní krajina Háj – Kovářská – Mědník is a landscape monument zone in the north-west part of Chomutov district in the Ústí region. It was declared a conservation zone in 2014. It occupies an area of 1 150 ha and is part of the Czech-German project Mining region Erzgebirge / Krušnohoří. The aim of the project was to include the Krishnomountain assembly region on the UNESCO World Heritage List, which took place in 2019.

Mědík peak is mentioned for the first time in connection with assembly activities in the years 1446-1449. There are a number of old plates and shafts on the Mědka, which are still localized by sinks and sinks. One of the most important mining works in this location is Marie Auxiliary and Promised Land. They have been partially made available to the public since 2007 and 2012. A part of the monument zone is the former Mědenec Mine, which was operated in the years 1968- 1992 as the last iron ore mine in Czech territory.

An important monument in the protected zone is the remains of limestone with adjoining quarry near Kovárský on the Haj near Loučná pod Klínovec. It is the oldest preserved limestone in Bohemia.

Hornická kulturní krajina Háj – Kovářská – Mědník includes the area of assembly monuments of European importance, associated with the centuries-old history of mining iron and copper ores in this region of Central Krušnohoří. The key place here is the top of the Copper.

The monument zone includes the cadastral territory of the Háj u Loučné pod Klínovec, Kovářská, Copper and Upper Hale. The border of the monument zone goes from the Hájská hill to the northeast to the railway line Chomutov - Vejprty and according to it turns east. He walks around Kovárský from the south and continues all the way to the former Mědenec Mine. Includes the area around the hill Mědík including the adjacent area of the cancelled mine from the 20th century and continues further east to the place where the railway station Mědenec stood. At this easternmost point, the border turns south and then moves west along the north edge of the Copper House and the Upper Hall.

Hornická kulturní krajina Háj – Kovářská – Mědník is remarkable with its unique combination of historic mining works, limestone and remains of mining town. Its importance is that it represents one of the few preserved mining sites in the Czech Republic, which maintains the original character and documents of historical ore mining.

Hornická kulturní krajina Háj – Kovářská – Mědník is worth visiting for its unique historical and technical monuments, which represent a significant part of Czech industrial history. Its visit offers the opportunity to explore the rich history of ore mining in the Erzgebirge Mountains and to see preserved mining works and technical monuments.
