Hotel International in Brno, located in Husova Street, is one of the most important examples of Brussels style in the Czech Republic and a remarkable hotel building built in 1962. This 11-storey object is inspired by the style of Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer and includes features of late functionalism, which makes it a unique example of architecture at the time. Since 1988, the hotel has been recognised as a cultural monument, but lost its status in 2013.

Hotel International was created during the era of socialist realism and state socialism, which is also evident in its architectural style. It was built according to the project that won the contest in 1957. This project was designed by Wilhelm Kubá, Jaroslav Ledvina and Vítěslav Unzeitig. The implementation of the hotel was taken over by architects Arnošt Krejza, Miloslav Kramoliš, Zdeňka Kopecká, Miroslav Brabec and Zbyšek Kašpar who used the winning competition project as a basis. The hotel was opened for operation on 29 June 1962.

After the Velvet Revolution in 1989 the hotel was privatised and transferred to the property of Hotel International Brno, a.s., founded in 1992. In the years 1962-1989, the first director of Brno hotel was Petr Políně.

Key events include opening the hotel for operation in 1962 and beginning of the period as a cultural monument in 1988. In 2013 the hotel was released from the status of cultural monument. Since 2015, bees have been breeding on the roof of the hotel and their honey is used in the hotel's kitchen, which adds an interesting element to the hotel's operation.
