Hradiště (tvrz) Fortress

Hradiště is a Renaissance manor house transformed into a granary located in the village of Hradiště within Teplice District. Situated approximately 210 meters above sea level on the highest point in the western section of the village, this site holds historical significance as it was once part of an agricultural estate. The entire area, including dilapidated residential and farm buildings, stables, barns, and a surrounding wall, has been protected as a cultural monument since 1964.

The first documented mention of Hradiště dates back to 1550 when it belonged to Václav Ledvický. However, historical records suggest that the site had notable residents even earlier, with Sezema residing there in 1413 and Hereš mentioned as a tenant in 1415. By 1428, Jan Hrádek z Chodžova was associated with the estate, indicating its longstanding significance in the region. Over the centuries, ownership changed hands several times, reflecting broader historical shifts. In 1531, Jindřich Ledvický z Chanova became an owner, followed by Žibřid Žďárský ze Žďáru in 1585. Subsequent owners included Magdaléna Rausendorfová ze Špremberka and Radslav Vchynský ze Vchynic († 1619), with Vilém Vchynský ze Vchynic († 1634) being a notable figure until the Thirty Years' War. During this tumultuous period, Jan Aldringen acquired Hradiště along with Teplice, integrating it into the larger teplického velkostatku estate.

Architecturally, Hradiště began as a Renaissance manor house, characterized by its style and construction typical of the era in Bohemia. The transformation into a granary occurred in 1934, significantly altering its original form and layout. Despite this change, some elements like vaulted cellars beneath the structure have been preserved, offering a glimpse into its past architectural features.
