Jánský zámeček (also known as Johanneshof or Kastner Castle in the German-speaking environment) lies in the Broumian area right from the road from Zadní Chodov. He obtained his name according to the statue of St. John Nepomuk, which was located in the park in front of the building. Its second name Kastner castle is linked to one of its owners, but the exact identification is missing in the available sources.

The castle has enjoyed its first reliable references in written sources since 1818, when it is registered just as Kastner schlösschen. The period documentation contains a detailed description of the internal structure. The function of the castle was primarily to serve as a residence for foresters and retired civil servants; on occasion he also performed the role of hunting headquarters of the local authority. However, the exact time of his position remains unclear - some of the sources of the wood are formed by the end of the 18th century, others consider him the oldest of the Broumian locks, which would have had to be moved before 1750, since around that time the castle of St. Vitus was founded. It is certain that the founder was a member of the Bavarian Earl of Haimhausen, who had owned the entire estate for many years. The members of this family were initiators of the construction of all three broum castles and also industrial plants whose remains are visible along the Hamer creek.

The castle is an architectural part of a late Baroque to classical style with rectangular ground plan. The interesting thing is the contradiction between the map of the cadastral of 1838, which depicts it with a square plan, and the construction itself. The construction itself shows no evidence of gradual reconstruction since its first description in 1818, indicating that there was an error in the mapping rather than a subsequent ground plan change.

The castle is protected as a real-estate cultural monument under number 34304 / 4-1979. The adjacent park is recognised as an important landscape element. For many years, the construction was largely decayed and neglected, overgrown by an uncultivated park. Currently, the building is restored by its private owner, which gives hope to save this interesting testimony of the Broom construction activity of the 18th and 19th centuries.

Welcome to Broumov, a small town full of history and secrets waiting to be discovered. You are standing in front of the Janis castle, a late baroque to classical building whose beauty is intermittently wandered in the anxious sounds of time. When you look at him, it's like you've gone back to the past - a house that has preserved its history despite the decay and oblivion. To the right of the road from the back Chodov, this castle appears as a gem in an unpreserved park whose shadows tell us stories of the days when it was a place of life and dreams.

Let's dive into his history. For the first time he describes Jánský zámeček in 1818 as Kastner schlösschen. Even though the names of architects are forgotten, the power and beauty of its construction are indicative of artistic taste and the pursuit of beauty that has surpassed the limits of time. The supposed founder was the Earl of the House of Haimhausen of Bavaria, which tells us about the ties and importance this castle had for the Broum estate. At a time when castles and castle houses were a symbol of power and prestige, Jánský zámeček served as an important element of local master's life.

Look up at his facade. Although we are not aware of the specific details of architecture, note the elegant lines and harmony of shapes that characterize Baroque and classical style. It's like every stone talking about a past of generosity and artistic aspirations. Here, two styles meet in one harmonious unit, which illustrates the rich history of the region.

Note the key stories and personalities associated with this place. The Earl of Haimhausen was not only the founder, but also a symbol of the ties between Bavaria and the Czech Kingdom. Their presence here is a testament to earlier times, when borders were often theoretical, and relations between monarchs took turns as months. This castle is therefore not only an architectural work but also a cultural bridge between two worlds.

The interesting thing to notice is that Jánský zámeček had several names. In a German-speaking environment, he was known as Johanneshof or Kastner's castle. This diversity of names reminds us of how cultures and languages intertwined in this area, which made Jánský zámeček a place full of cultural links and historical connections.

And now that they've learned all about this fascinating place, the invitation is simple: continue to explore Broumovska and its rich history. Save some time to dive into the atmosphere of this area where every stone has a story to tell. Whether you walk through the streets of the city or embark on another historic place, Broumov and its monuments such as Jánský zámeček are really fruits of time waiting to be discovered. Thank you for your visit and I wish you many more interesting discoveries!
