All that was left before you was the remnants of the former parish church, which stood here in the second half of the 13th century. The chapel, as you know it today, was built only in the eighteenth century, when only fragments of the presbytery remained from the original building. Look at its simple facade - here it reflects traces of time, but also the faith and determination of those who have preserved it.

Let's go back a few centuries. The first written mention of the Church of the Birth of the Virgin Mary dates back to 1395 and 1406. This means that at the time there was already a temple in this place that served the faithful and was the center of spiritual life in the vicinity. Between 1712 and 1714 he then went through the Baroque reconstruction, which he had carried out by the Broum Abbot Otmar Daniel Zinke. This adjustment to the church gave him a new look, but fate awaited him another. In 1787 the parish was abolished as part of the Josephine reforms, and the church began to die slowly. In 1792 it was discussed until only the most resilient parts were left - a presbytery that was transformed into a chapel, as you see it today.

Now pay attention to what surrounds you. The chapel stands in the cemetery, which gives the place a quiet, almost meditative atmosphere. Its original purpose was to serve as a place of prayer and respect, and although it is now smaller and more modest than the original church, it still carried the same sacrament. Notice how different epochs intersect here - the Middle Ages, the Baroque and the fateful eighteenth centuries. Each layer of history is captured here in the wall, in the structure, in the air that exists here.

The chapel has no famous architects or significant personalities associated with its walls, but its existence alone tells the story of resistance. Let's see what's left of the past. Although the construction is simple, its walls carry traces of time - you may notice how light is reflected on them differently than elsewhere, or how there is a different vibration than in the surroundings. This is the magic of places that have survived for centuries: even though the church has ceased to exist, his spirit has remained here.
