Kostel Čtrnácti svatých pomocníků (Krompach) Church

The Church of Fourteen Holy Helpers in Krompach is a late Baroque church built between 1770 and 1784. This cultural monument is located in the foothills of the Lusatian Mountains in the Liberec Region and reflects the religious zeal and community spirit of its time. Born for its architectural beauty and historical importance, it was designated as a cultural heritage in 2011.

Construction from 1770 to 1784, financed by local residents and church resources. This period meant a significant religious and cultural development in the Czech Republic within the framework of the Habsburg monarchy. The church is an example of Baroque architecture and Catholic devotion to this era.

It is an architectural example of the late Baroque style. It has an elongated ship with triangular presbytery and sacristy. Externally, lisenas, framed windows, and a triangular label will decorate the facade. The interior boasts a barel- arched presbytery and flat ceilinged nave, extended with illusionistic paintings of the 19th century. These artistic elements include pilasters and painted window frames that create the optical effect of adding depth and grandeur.

the church is run by the Roman Catholic parish Krompach, with additional care from the local civil association Janské Kameny - Johannisstein. In 2011, lightning strike damaged the structure, underlining its vulnerability and the need for conservation.

Inside, there is a main altar decorated with 19th century paintings dating back to the late Baroque period of the last third of the 18th century. Two side altars dedicated to Christ and the Virgin Mary have wooden frames with illusionistic architectural paintings from the end of the 18th century. A Rococo pulpit decorated with Rosettes and floral motifs also dates back to this period. There is also a late Baroque statue of St. John Nepomucena and a statue of Immaculat from 1750. The baptism of the church of stone with wooden cover showing Christ's baptism dates back to 1787.

Near the church there is a desert chapel, divided pilasters. In this chapel is a popularized statue of St. John Nepomucena and the late Baroque relief of Calvary since the late 18th century.

Today, access to the church is limited by 14 holy helpers, open once a year to visitors. Despite limited availability, the church remains an important cultural place, which is worth visiting thanks to its architectural beauty, its historical importance and its protection community. Its unique blend of art and history invites interested people to explore and appreciate the lasting legacy of Baroque architecture and religious heritage.
