The Church of the Virgin Mary Mother of the Union of Christians is situated on the hill in the centre of the village Tavíkovice and serves as a parish church of the religious parish of Beharovice. Its modern form represents an isolated case in the landscape of Czech churches - until 2008 it was among the youngest sacral buildings in периодProcessing Znojmo.

The way to this church was not direct. For the first time, the construction of a new temple was considered in the period after the First World War, but the intended project was never implemented. Another attempt came in 1969 when the local community was ready to implement the construction and all technical and legal requirements were in place. But the plans have thwarted the political situation - the onset of normalisation has brought a strict ban on the construction of church buildings, which has definitively halted this initiative.

Only after the revolution did conditions change. A new building permit was issued in 1993 but was subsequently revoked. The key moment was 25 September 1995, when the construction decisions were renewed. In the same year, on 21 May, the cornerstone for the church was ceremoniously blessed by Pope John Paul II. In the spring of 1996 they started building foundations. The formal laying of the foundation stone took place on 1 June 1997 and this stone is located near the main entrance to the church.

The construction and project were managed between 1994 and 2002 by architects Vladimír Šlapeta and Jiří Mojžíš. The cost of implementation amounted to approximately CZK 8 million. The construction process was not easy - an incomplete building had to be temporarily covered in 1998, with contributions from donors from all over the Republic. Also this year, the space was temporarily covered with copper roof. In the following year, the roof of the ship was finally finished and covered with thermal double glazing.

The church was festively consecrated on 18 May 2002 by Bishop Vojtěch Cikrl. The long-standing Treadmill priest Josef Fiala, who served in Běhřovice from 1956 to 2008, was responsible for carrying out this demanding project. Four years later, in 2008, another new building was built in nearby Šumné - the Church of the Holy Spirit, which thus became the youngest church in the district of Znojmo.

Visitors can see here the characteristic of the one-ship architectural form and modern concept of the sacral space, which puts the church in contrast with more than the lovers' temples in the surroundings. The building is a testament to both the long efforts of the local community to assert their temple and the determination with which the construction was carried out in difficult conditions.
