The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Dolní Boříkovice is a significant cultural monument within the Králíky District of the Pardubický Region. This Roman Catholic parish church, renowned for its Baroque architecture from the early 18th century, reflects the artistic and religious influences of that era on Kralicku. Originally constructed with late Renaissance features around 1600, it underwent two major Baroque modifications in approximately 1706 and 1780. Its historical significance is highlighted by its elevation from a filial to a local parish in 1787 and later to a parish church status in either 1859 or 1869.

The origins of the Church date back to the late Renaissance period, around 1600, featuring a western tower typical of village churches from that era. Over time, it was modified and vaulted during two Baroque phases, reflecting architectural trends and religious influences of the early 18th century. This period coincided with Bohemia's inclusion in the Habsburg Monarchy, where cultural and architectural developments were influenced by the Counter-Reformation.

Architecturally, the church exemplifies the transition from Renaissance to Baroque styles. The original thatched roof was replaced by slate tiles in the 19th century, which were later substituted with sheet metal roofing in 1971. This renovation included new clock mechanisms and glazing of windows with glass sourced from Nový Bor. Notably, it features a neoclassical Calvary sculpture from 1816, crafted by a local folk artist, adding to its artistic heritage.

Throughout its history, the church has undergone various administrative changes and renovations. In 1752 and 1791, significant roof repairs were made, as evidenced by dates found on a removed iron weathervane. Its status was elevated in 1787 from a filial to a local parish and later to a parish church in either 1859 or 1869. In 1971, extensive renovations included the installation of a new water supply system and the replacement of the old shingle roof with slate tiles.

The church has witnessed several key events and curiosities over the years. In 1993, it suffered a theft where wooden sculptures of angels from both altars and all figures from the crib were stolen. Additionally, one sculpture from the neoclassical Calvary group was also stolen in an unspecified year. These incidents highlight the challenges faced in preserving such historical monuments.

Today, the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross remains a cultural landmark open to visitors. Despite its rich history and architectural significance, it faces preservation challenges, particularly with its wooden objects being affected by wood-boring insects. The church's interior features include varnished organs crafted by Jindřich Schifner from Prague and Doric images depicting the Stations of the Cross. Visitors are encouraged to explore this historical site, appreciating its architectural beauty and cultural heritage while supporting efforts to preserve it for future generations.
