Kostel svatého Františka z Assisi ve Studánce, a local part of Varnsdorf, is a single-boat building built in 1869-1872 in the New Romanesque style. This church became a significant dominant area and was declared a real-estate cultural monument of the Czech Republic in 2015. Its history is a testament to a long process involving local populations and demanding financial and manual efforts.

The history of the church dates back to the first half of the 19th century, when the village Studánka experienced a significant boom. Originally, it consisted of a master's sailing court and 13 houses of gardeners. Already in 1782, one parcel of this court was intended for the future construction of the church, which suggests a long tradition of religious life in Studanka. In 1801 the municipality applied for the status of the church and in 1802 it undertook manual work on the building, although the funds were insufficient. After several failed attempts, the village turned its attention to the emperor again in 1819 and then in 1822, when it already had 4000 gold pieces. Finally, in 1866 the highest decision allowed the position of the church and rectory.

The architecture of St. Francis's Church of Assisi is characteristic of the New Romanesque style that was popular at the time. The single-boat construction with a small boat transverse and south-oriented presbytery is exceptionally consistently preserved, including indoor equipment. In particular, the paving before the western front stands out by its irregular double-type stones.

The key events in the formation of the church were several requests for permission to build, which started in 1801. In 1822, the Imperial Office expressed its approval of the establishment of a curacia under certain financial conditions, which was important for further action. In 1866, the church and rectory were finally allowed after a long process of negotiating and collecting funds.

Today, the Church of Saint Francis of Assisi is not only a cultural monument, but also an active parish centre. Its history and architecture attract visitors who want to explore the region's rich heritage. The church is open to the public and offers a view of the past that reflects the commitment and architectural ambitions of the community at the end of the 19th century.

The Church of Saint Francis of Assisi is not only a monument to history, but also a living place of religious life and culture. Its importance for the municipality Studánka and the whole region is undeniable, which makes the visit of this place not only interesting but also inspiring experience.
