St. Nicholas Church is the dominant village of Pernarec in the district of Plzeň-sever. The first written mention of him dates back to 1360, which proves his long history. Today, the building is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic and is thus one of the locations with special care of the state.

The building history of the church building has spread over several centuries. Significant alterations came especially in the first quarter of the nineteenth century, when the ship was substantially modified and expanded between 1820 and 1822 - the main parts of the church intended for believers. In the same period, a tower was erected above the western facade, which became a characteristic element of the silhouette of the object. Around 1770 the interior was decorated with stucco decoration by the owner Ignác F. Platzer. The last significant building interventions came at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and then to 1931, suggesting that the construction was continuously adapting to changing needs for over half a millennium.

So today's church form represents the layering of various architectural phases. The stucco decoration from the second half of the eighteenth century forms a valuable part of the interior, while the tower erected in the early nineteenth century is a visible dominant landscape. The ship that underwent more extensive modifications in the 19th century provides space for the assembly of believers for generations.

On the south side below the church lies the damaged economic court and remains of the former parish. These buildings originally formed a functional whole where the spiritual administrator and his assistants managed the parish. Today, they are an example of how the housing structure of villages has changed. Visiting this place allows us to understand not only the development of the temple itself, but also the fate of the wider rural community that has been gathering here for centuries.
