The Koupark is a multifunctional urban park situated in Radvanice, a part of Ostrava, in the Moravian-Silesian Region. It was created from a former swimming pool in Ostrava-Radvanice and revitalized in 2020 to enhance biodiversity and attractiveness for Ostrava residents. This park is notable for its transformation from a neglected area to a vibrant public space.

The area was previously a former coal mine with overgrown vegetation. The first phase of the swimming pool construction took place from 1968 to 1971, including a pool, playground, and restaurant. The second phase began in 1972 to address previous issues and build ski jumps. However, the swimming pool was closed in the late 1980s, and the area was privatized in the 1990s, becoming a large dump and accumulating debt.

The park's architecture is a result of its revitalization in 2020, which included cleaning the area, removing unsuitable structures, repairing the original pool's concrete body, and reshaping the terrain. New paths and furniture were installed, and new trees, shrubs, and plants were planted. The total area affected by the revitalization is approximately 79,000 square meters.

The Koupark is owned and administered by the city of Ostrava. The area was previously privatized and became a large dump, but the city has since taken steps to revitalize the site. The final stage of construction was completed in 2023, with the expansion of the children's area at the bottom of the original pool.

The park features a 450-meter-long in-line track along the perimeter of the former water reservoir. There are also educational trails, a children's playground, a workout area, a rope course, benches, tables, sun loungers, an arbor, grilling areas, and elements supporting biodiversity, such as bee hotels and insect hotels. Visitors can also find toilets and parking spaces nearby.

The Koupark is worth visiting for its unique blend of natural and recreational spaces. The park's transformation from a neglected area to a vibrant public space is a testament to the power of revitalization and community engagement. Visitors can explore the park's various amenities and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, making it a great destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts.
