The first credible mention of this castle appears only in 1462, when it was mentioned in the description of the quarry estate. Even though the castle as a whole died, the memory of it remained alive. Even in 1667, a reference to the remains of an ancient wall appeared in the documents of the quarry estate, which proves to us that hundreds of years after leaving, these stones were still seen as an important element of the landscape.

Now pay attention to what's right in front of your eyes. Even if you only see fragments, they're fragments of incredible quality. Notice these remnants of the perimeter wall. If you approach them, you can see details that suggest a huge effort by the builders back then. One of the most prominent architectural elements you can see here is the so-called mantle wall. Imagine the work that people had to do in the 14th century to build this wall thickness right on these melaphyr rock outputs.
