Lázně Fořt, historically known as Lesní Lázně or Forstbad in German, is a notable site within Rudník municipality in the Krkonoše Mountains. Established for its medicinal sulfur water, it gained attention in the 17th century for purported healing properties. Despite various developments and ownership changes throughout the 19th century, Lázně Fořt never achieved significant popularity as a spa destination.

The origins of Lázně Fořt trace back to the 17th century when interest was sparked by a legend of a blind girl's miraculous healing at the spring. This event contributed to its early fame and led to organized pilgrimages, enhancing its reputation as a site of spiritual significance. In 1754, an octagonal chapel dedicated to Our Lady was constructed on the site by Ignác Dominik Chorinský z Ledské, who aimed to capitalize on the growing number of visitors.

Architecturally, Lázně Fořt underwent significant changes over time. Initially featuring simple structures such as a wooden dance hall and inn, it saw major redevelopment between 1880 and 1881 under Karel Berger rytíř z Bergentalu. This period marked the construction of new spa buildings including a spa house, treatment building, and colonnade. Additionally, Swiss-style chalets were built near the chapel, contributing to the area's picturesque landscape.

Ownership of Lázně Fořt changed hands several times, reflecting its fluctuating fortunes. After Ignác Dominik Chorinský z Ledské, Jan Václav Berger acquired the site in 1794 and later became a nobleman known as Jan Václav Berger rytíř z Bergentalu. In the early 20th century, Franz Kluge took ownership and commissioned significant expansions, including the construction of a large villa named Marie.

Despite these developments, Lázně Fořt faced challenges that hindered its success as a spa destination. The establishment of a nearby artificial silk factory in 1921 introduced industrial pollution, damaging both the environment and the site's reputation for purity. This, coupled with competition from other spas like Špindlerův Mlýn and Janské Lázně, led to its decline.

Today, only remnants of the once-thriving spa remain. The area is characterized by a few surviving buildings that have fallen into disrepair over time. Despite this, Lázně Fořt holds historical significance as a reflection of 18th and 19th-century health tourism trends and industrial impacts on rural areas.
