Letiny Spa is a complex of spa buildings in the eponymous settlement of the Letiny municipality in the south of the Plzeň region. The entire area is protected as a cultural monument. It once included a castle that no longer stands today.
Letiny belonged to the Pikarty of Grünthal family from the middle of the seventeenth century. The castle was built around seventeen hundred by knight Břeněk or knight Rudolf Pikarty of Grünthal, the sources disagree on this. In seventeen sixty-six, the Morzins had the castle converted into a spa building. Letiny then belonged to the Dolní Lukavice estate. From seventeen ninety-four until nineteen forty-five it was owned by the Schönborns.
The castle was a single-story building with a rectangular floor plan. A risalit protruding from the center of the façade was topped with a triangular gable, called a tympanum, bearing the Schönborn coat of arms. From nineteen oh one, the building was called the Old Spa.
After the Second World War, it served as a recuperation facility for the Škoda factory in Plzeň until the nineteen eighties. Later, a dining room for the Labe spa building operated within it. In nineteen eighty-eight, the castle was demolished during renovations of the spa complex.
