Levý Hradec Hillfort

Levý Hradec is an early medieval fortified settlement near Roztoky in the Czech Republic, about 3 km northwest of Prague. This historical site served as a significant stronghold and likely the original seat of Bořivoj I, the first known Přemyslid ruler. Notably, it was here that Bohemia's first Christian church was constructed, dedicated to Saint Clement, marking an important moment in the region's religious history. The site has been protected as a cultural monument since 1965 due to its historical significance.

The origins of Levý Hradec date back to the mid-9th century when it was established on a promontory along the left bank of the Vltava River.
