The mind is a fortress in the same-name village in the northwest part of the Sand district in the South Bohemia region. This building dates back to the 13th century. It is particularly important by its reconstruction from the original Gothic core to the Renaissance style.

The men's residence in Míín probably stood in the second half of the 13th century. The first known flag that was based here was Stephen of Míín, whose name is documented in 1382. His followers were Hippo and Beneš z Myslína. Beneš took part in the Battle of Lipan on the side of the Unity.

The building of the fort no. 4 is understacked and has one floor. The original Gothic building was later rebuilt into Renaissance style. This change dates back around 1595 according to the year on the walled-up entrance portal, on whose vault is placed the coat of arms of Loub from Lub. Other Renaissance elements include stone lining of some windows on the first floor, fragments of sgraffiti plaster on the western front and part of the roof. The Gothic parts were probably preserved in the basement and the ground floor of the eastern residential wing. The original complex was protected by a ditch and a boulder. The premises include an economic court which has undergone subsequent modifications. In 1708, Eggenberg built a west wing with stables. In 1840, the arch was restored in the north wing, where the cow was located. In this wing is also a sealed cellar under the eastern part of the stable. The south wing contained a barn.

After the flags of Míčín, the residence became the property of the Zuba of Landstein, who were mentioned here in 1517. Half the sixteenth century ago, Zdenka's son's farm was won by Zdenka, the Loub of Lub. William Loubsky had a village with a fortress and a court written into the renewed records of the Earth in 1543. At the end of the 16th century the property was shared by Bedřich a Hynek z Lub. Hynek gained a share of his older brother and had the old fort rebuilt into the Renaissance style. The last owner of this family was Eva Ludmila Loubská from Kalenic. In 1679 she sold Míín, Pliskovice and the extinct village to Prince Jan Kristian of Eggenberg. Thus, the estate was attached to the Eagle Manor and the fort lost its function as a superintendent.

In the second half of the twentieth century, the building was used by a single agricultural cooperative. Currently, the fort No. 4 with the adjacent court is protected as a cultural monument. This historic building represents an interesting example of the transformation of a noble mansion into an economic complex. It is suitable for visiting for understanding the development of local architecture and history of the region.

Welcome to the creature of history, the place where every wall and every stone seem to tell the story of ancient times. You're standing right in front of Mechin, the historic fortress that stands in the northwest district of Sand County. Before you go any further, stop for a moment and feel the atmosphere of this place. In front of your eyes is a building that is not just a matter of stone and mortar, but a living witness to the centuries that have been going on here. Can you feel the weight of history? The mind is not just a residence, it is a chronicle of families that sought safety, power and home.

Let's go back to the deep past together to understand how this whole thing came about. The roots of this fortress range back to the second half of the 13th century. At that time, the first men's mansion was probably built here. It wasn't as monumental at the time as you may present it in your mind, but the cornerstone was laid just then. From the very beginning, I thought he formed as the residence of a small noble estate. There were people in these areas whose names may have fallen into the dust of time today, but who left their mark. Here we can see glare of names like Hroch z Myslína or Beneš z Myslína. Even though we know little about their daily lives, they were the first chapter of the story.

Now pay attention to how Mítin became part of larger stories over time and how his position changed. The first clear historical evidence that allows us to pinpoint the timeline is from the 1930s. This year, Stephen of Míčín's flag is first documented. Imagine his position, his responsibility, and how important it was for the House of thought to have his name written in historical documents. Since then, the fate of the fortress has been constantly changing and intertwining with various powerful dynasties.

In the year one thousand and five hundred and seventeen, the fate of Mysin changed fundamentally when the mansion became the property of the mighty family of Zúb of Landstein. That meant a new era, a new level of meaning. Later, in the mid-sixteenth century, William Loubsky of Lub, for example, moved in these walls. The House of Loubsky has brought new energy to Mysin and it is with them that one of the most beautiful moments in the history of this building is connected.

Now, if you look at the architecture itself that surrounds you, notice how different styles blend in. The mind is not the construction of an era, it is a palimpsest on which history was constantly rewritten. Originally there was a Gothic core, solid and rugged, meeting the needs of the medieval mansion. But around the year a thousand and five hundred and ninety-five had a major reconstruction. The fortress was transformed into a Renaissance style. This transition from goth to renaissance is one of the most important elements you can see here.

Pay attention now to details that are so typical of Renaissance style. If you can navigate and find the entrance part, notice the portal. It is precisely this walled-up portal, which is a key witness for us to the time of a thousand and five hundred and ninety-five. On the portal you can see the coat of arms of the Loub family from Lub. It's a fascinating detail that allows us to combine specific human destinies with a specific stone. This portal is not just a passageway, it is a symbol of prestige and an expression of the identity of the families that lived here.

But the history of Mysine did not stop in the Renaissance era. In the seventeenth century, the role of owners changed again. In the year six hundred and seventy-nine he was delivered to the prince John Kristian of Eggenberg. For the House of Eggenberg, Míín became an asset, but he no longer replaced the original function of the superseded residence he had in the past. The construction gradually turned into a different type of mansion. In a thousand seven hundred and eight, the Eggenberg family decided to expand further and built a western wing that served as, for example, a state space. This shows us how the usefulness and function of the building changed with the needs of its owners and with changing social conditions.

Looking at the mind, you can think about the characters that lived here. Think of Eva Ludmila Loub, of Bedrich or Hyneka of Lub. Each of them has probably experienced a different period, different joys and fears. Imagine how family debates were held in these areas, how farm matters were dealt with here and how the fate of people who had an influence on the area at the time was formed here.

There's one interesting thing you might find interesting. It's the constant transformation. The mind is not a static monument that has remained the same since its inception. It's an organism that's been changing, expanding, rebuilding and adapting. The fascinating thing that you see here is just the subtlety. The fact that it still hides the Gothic foundations under the Renaissance shapes is proof of continued duration and adaptation. This building survived centuries by being able to change without losing its essence.

Now that you have a better idea of what I think represents, I suggest you continue your search. Walk around, see the shapes of buildings, see how light changes on the walls and try to connect in spirit what you see with the stories we've just discussed. Let yourself be carried away by the atmosphere of this place and remember that right now you are part of another chapter in the history of Mysine. We thank you for your journey together and wish you a pleasant continuation in discovering this beautiful place.

The sun illuminates the roofs in golden light and the overall feeling is a calm and comfortable rest. This season visitors are more often less, allowing more intimate tours. We recommend visiting in between hours when the lighting is best and the temperature is pleasant. Wear a layered suit because autumn weather can suddenly be cold, especially in the afternoons.

Winter: Winter visit to the fortress The mind offers a completely different view - rooftops and walls can be covered with snow, giving the ancient object even more magic. The atmosphere is calm and quiet, often accompanied by cold air and cold rays of the sun. To visit the fort in the winter months is suitable for earlier afternoon time due to shorter daylight. It is necessary to wear warm, multi-ply suits and carry shoes suitable for freezing conditions. The opening times of the sights in winter may be shorter, so it is good to know before visiting.
