Radošovský most is an indoor wooden road object over the Ohři River in the village Radošov, which is part of the Acid in the Karlovy Vary Region. This cultural monument of the Czech Republic is of importance due to its location on the old road from Bohemia to Rhineland and it is one of the oldest fords on this river.

Historical sources confirm that, thanks to the royal privilege, a wooden covered bridge has been standing on the Earth's trail since 1364. The site served as an important point of transport connection between Czech countries and Rhineland-Palatinate.

The current form of the building is based on historical elements, as the building stands on stone pillars from the second half of the 18th century. The construction measures more than 62 metres in length and more than 5.5 metres in width. The entire length is covered by a shingles roof with a gradient of 47 degrees. Inside is a one-track road separated from two side walkways by longitudinal thresholds. Small windows, skylights and ceiling lights are used for lighting and ventilation.

The fate of the building has been complicated over the years. After the overhaul in 1980, there was a fire on 18 July 1986 that destroyed the bridge. The building was rebuilt in 2003 but subsequently damaged by car impact. Despite these events, the 2011 bridge successfully resisted the flood.

Today the bridge is part of local communication. Its operation is limited to vehicles with a mass of up to 3,5 tonnes, height up to 3 metres and speed up to 30 km / h. Priority shall be given to vehicles coming from the direction Radošova; a waiting area is built at the entrance from the opposite bank. For tourists are prepared special tourist stamps number 1330 under the name Acid - Radošov Bridge and tourist medal number 420 called Radošov Bridge, Acid.

Radošovský most is an important witness to the history of transport routes in this area. This valuable technical object is worth a visit.

Seasonal recommendations

Spring In spring, the surroundings of the bridge awaken to life. The leaves start to green, and the sun lights through the rocks. The mood is fresh and full of hope. I recommend arriving in the morning when the air is the purest. Put on several layers of clothing because it may be cold in the morning, but it will be warmer during the day.

Summer There are many more visitors in the summer months. The shade of trees provide a pleasant cold on hot days. The light is very bright and the colors of the forest are rich. It's best to arrive early in the morning because of the crowds. Don't forget the headgear and enough fluids to drink.

Autumn Autumn brings golden and brown shades to the landscape. Fog often floats around rock formations, creating a mysterious mood. It's the best time for a peaceful observation of nature. Prepare waterproof shoes and a warmer top layer because the humidity can be high.

Winter Zimą is at the monument quiet and quiet, especially if snow falls. The rocks can be covered with ice, which changes the appearance of the whole place. The light is weak and the days are short. The necessity is to wear a very warm jacket and shoes that don't slide to keep you from getting hurt on a wet surface.
