Sousoší Nejsvětější Trojice (Město Touškov) Holy trinity column

The statue of the Holy Trinity, located in the Lower Square in Touškov, is an important cultural monument and Baroque sculpture work from 1723. Created by Pilsen artist Zikmund Legát. Since 1964, this object has the status of a cultural monument, highlighting its historical and aesthetic value.

The creation of sculptures is closely linked to the Baroque period of the 18th century, when a rich artistic and architectural style developed in Central Europe. The first written mention of the creation of this work comes from the urban chronicle of 1890-1892, where it is stated that Christophe Fritsch donated the fund to its construction and maintenance. His foundation was restored a hundred years later by Catherine Nemelková, the great-granddaughter of the Donor.

The sculpture architecture is characteristic of Baroque style, with a triple column decorated with rich decoration. The pedestal square plate carries a prism plinth with a stone signature and a monogram cartouche. The column is decorated with volute ornaments, rolls and clouds with angels' heads. His warhead shows the Holy Trinity above the globe and the Coronation of the Virgin Mary. The statues of St. John the Baptist, St. Vincent, St. Christopher and St. Francis are set around the column.

The history of sculpture management is marked by several key events. Since 1829, the City Council has been entrusted with maintaining it. In 1902 there was the first repair and reconstruction carried out by František Egerer, who painted the column white and gilded. After the damage to the statue of St. Francis in 1962, the sculpture was hidden behind the tree vegetation. The reconstruction was carried out in the years 1984- 1985 under the guidance of the artist Jaroslav Šindelář, who included repairs of damaged parts.

The statue of the Holy Trinity is now accessible to visitors and is worth visiting not only because of its historical value, but also as a reminder of the rich cultural tradition of the area. Its important architecture and artistic processing make this object a unique monument that reflects the spirituality of the baroque era.
