Starý zámek u Vidimi Chateau

Starý zámek u Vidimi is a vanished rock chateau located about one kilometer west of Vidim in the Mělník District. It sits atop a sandstone cliff at an elevation of around 280 meters. This historical site has been protected as a cultural monument since 1987 due to its archaeological significance and unique architectural features. Despite lacking written records, it offers valuable insights into medieval fortification techniques and regional development during the late Middle Ages.

The chateau's existence dates back to the second half of the 15th century based on archaeological findings. Architecturally, Starý zámek u Vidimi featured a two-part layout with an emphasis on defense and communication.
