Tříkrálová štola Other
Tříkrálová štola is a historic underground ore mine located on the cadastral territory of Mikulova in the Krušné Mountains, Teplice district, Ústecký kraj. This extensive mining complex is a protected cultural monument and since 4 December 2013 it has been registered in the Central List of Real-Estate Cultural Monuments of the Czech Republic.
The start of mining dates back to the early years of the 16th century, about a century later than the miners began to look for deposits of precious metals in this area. The oldest written records of the beginning of silver mining in the territory of Mikulova dates back to 1404 and relate to the pit of All Saints. Tříkrálová štola is part of a wider mining system that includes four stalls with separate entrances: Allerheiligen / All Saints, Lehnschafter, Liebefrauen / Dear Lady and Kreuzstollen. The biggest development of mining took place in the 18th and 19th centuries, when some of the older mining corridors were broken and expanded. The exact date of termination is unknown, but probably occurred in the third period of the 19th century.
They used rumples to transport broken ore in the mine. One of these transport kits was subsequently reconstructed and preserved in cooperation with the Prague National Technical Museum.
Tříkrálová štola is an important witness to the history of mining in this area. Her visit offers insight into technical past and mining operations.
