The castle is located at the southern end of the village and is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. The building was built in the third period of the 17th century as an early Baroque residence of Dominicans. The Order of the Dominican Republic of Brno gradually secured ownership in Těšany - a part of the village had been owned since the 14th century, the rest purchased in 1666.

The monastery community has created not only housing but also its own spiritual centre. Since there was no church in the village, Dominicans established their own chapel in the residence, which they used for their prayers and services. In this way, the building has also become a religious centre for local believers.

But the fate of the castle has changed as a result of state reforms in the era of enlightenment. In 1784 the monastery was abolished and the residence was taken over by the state religious fund. The match for the property continued briefly - in 1807 the castle went into private ownership, where it remained in the hands of new owners.

The second half of the 19th century brought extensive architectural changes. Under the leadership of the Weiss family, work was carried out that shaped the building as visitors see it today. These adjustments reflect the taste and financial possibilities of the then nobles who wished to modernise their seat according to the style of their time.

Zámek Těšany is an important testament to the transformation of Czech history from the period of барока to the Enlightenment to the industrial era. The visitor will find a link between the monastery's past and later noble fate. As a protected cultural monument, it represents not only architecture, but also a variety of stories of people who inhabited and shaped it.
