Castle Vrbičany is located in the same name village in the district of Litoměřice and is one of the protected cultural monuments of the Czech Republic since 1964. It is a late Baroque building from the late 18th century, which bears the distinctive features of its origin.

The foundation of the castle dates back to 1786 to 1789. He built it František Karel Kressels, a free master from Kvaltenberg (also called Gwaltenberg). The site was previously built in the 17th century, and some historical sources state that there was also an unsubstantiated fortress. An interesting finding of the construction historical survey of 2012 is that the castle in its current form was built at once in full without the use of older construction structures.

After the death of František Karl Kressel in 1801 he was briefly owned by his wife Josefa, rozená hraběnka Straková z Nedabylic, who died a year later. In the will she left the castle to her great-nephew František Saleska Karl, the free master of Puteani, who owned it until 1843. In 1864 he became property of Terezie z Herbersteinu. It was then owned by her descendants, Count Herberstein.

The building is a single-storey building with a characteristically forward and two-storey central part. In 1946, after World War II, the castle was confiscated on the basis of Benes' decrees. The United Union of Czech farmers then used it as a centre for agricultural training - in the same year it set up a machinery training centre and a training centre for tractors and agricultural machinery operators, to which the State tractor station was assigned. In addition, since February 1948, there has been a second youth training centre. After 2002, the castle served as a driving school and a workplace for professional training of apprentices in the carpentry industry.

In 2011, Sempra Vrbičany acquired the castle and started reconstruction. In 2015 the roof and ground floor repair of one wing were completed. In the same year, the castle was made available to the public and started a new chapter in its fates as a cultural and historical place.
