The Chateau in Vršovice is a significant historical monument located in Southern Vršovice within the Ústecký kraj region of the Czech Republic. Constructed initially in the first half of the 17th century, it features late Renaissance architecture and has undergone several modifications over time. The origins of the Chateau trace back to a medieval fortress, serving as the seat of the lords of the Vršovice estate. A significant transformation occurred in the early 17th century when Prokop Dvořecký purchased it for 81,000 Míšeňských kop in 1615.

Architecturally, the Chateau is distinguished by its late Renaissance elements. It features a four-winged layout with a central courtyard and stepped gables on its façade dating back to around 1628, as indicated by an alliance coat of arms above the main gate. A sundial was added to the front tower in 1663. Further modifications were made between 1735 and 1736 under Ludvík Jiří z Bádenu, though specific details remain undocumented.

Ownership changed hands several times throughout its history. After Dvořecký's execution in 1621 for participating in a rebellion, Volf Ilburk z Vřesovic acquired it in 1622. The estate later passed to Sylvie Kateřina Černínová provdaná z Bádenu in 1663 and remained under her family until 1783. Jan kníže ze Schwarzenberka purchased the chateau in 1783, beginning a long period of ownership by the Schwarzenberg family until 1924.

Throughout its history, the Chateau has witnessed key events and curiosities. During the Thirty Years' War, Bohemia experienced significant political and religious turmoil that influenced local power dynamics. The chateau served as a strategic location during the Seven Years’ War and the War of Bavarian Succession when Prussian troops were stationed there, causing interior damage. Additionally, the estate included facilities such as hop gardens, vineyards with a press, vegetable gardens, pheasant houses, and a brewery.

Today, the Chateau in Vršovice stands abandoned and inaccessible to the public. Its current state reflects decades of neglect following its transition into private ownership after 1989. The collapse of its tower in May 2024 further underscores its deteriorating condition. Despite these challenges, the site remains a valuable historical monument offering insights into the architectural and social history of the region.
