The wooden Baroque polygonal bell tower located in the cemetery southwest of St. Wenceslas's Church in the village of Horní Ředice (district of Pardubice) is an important architectural monument from 1729. Built as part of the original wooden church, it stands still as a significant landscape dominant of the surroundings and is protected as a real cultural monument of the Czech Republic since 1958.

The bell tower was built during the Baroque period, which affected artistic and architectural work in Central Europe in the 18th century. In the Czech Republic, this style reflected the development of cities and the construction of new churches and bells, reflecting cultural and religious changes at the time.

Architecturally, the bell tower is built on a low octogonal stone suspect with plank walls about 2 meters high. They are covered with needles and pass in four-sided prism formwork on the bell floor where there are holes for bells. The bell tower is finished with a tent roof which has been covered with shingles since 1962 after the last repair; originally shale cover. The inner structure of the bell tower is stenary with an unusual middle cross-link, which contributes to its uniqueness.

The history of the bell tower is connected to the original wooden church, which was demolished in 1857. After this event the bell tower remained a remnant of the past and became part of a new church built nearby. In 1958 it was declared a protected cultural monument of the Czech Republic, which highlights its historical and cultural importance.

The interesting thing is that the original three historic bells came from the 15th and 16th centuries and were recited during the world wars. Today's only bell was created in 1952, which adds another layer of history to this monument.

Today the bell tower stands as a witness of the past and is an important part of the cultural heritage of the village of Horní Ředice. Its preservation and protection allow visitors to get close to the history and architecture of the Baroque period in Bohemia. For those who want to explore the rich heritage of the region, the bell tower is not only a monument to the search, but also a reminder of the persistence and adaptation of historical structures in the modern world.

The bell tower before you was built in 1729. Its origin is deeply linked to the history of the original wooden church, which stood in this place until 1857. Originally, the bell tower was part of this church, which was then torn down. This monument is a remnant of the time and a testament to the baroque style that characterized the architecture of those years.

Look up at the plank walls of the bell tower. You can see their shingles' roofed structure and tent roof, which has been covered by shingles since 1962. This detail shows efforts to preserve the monument at times when it was needed to repair and protect its historical character.

The key story of this bell is the fate of the three original bells. These bells were created between the 15th and 16th centuries, which shows the long-term history of this place as a spiritual centre of the village. In 1952 a single bell was created, which now marks the time for the Upper River community.
