The White Swan House, located on the west side of the Charles Square in Cologne, is a Baroque building built on Gothic foundations. The roots of the house date back to 1494, when there was evidence of a Gothic object. This monument has passed through several important stages of its history. The village Knights Michal Salaj z Cifry initiated the reconstruction of the building, which in 1662 rebuilt the house into an early Baroque style. Another fire in 1734 forced Václav Crane to transform again, this time on a single-storey building with an arch. During the following years, the building became part of many changes in ownership and functions, from the innkeeper's business to the pharmacy and bookstore.

The architecture of the White Swan House is characterized by Baroque elements built on Gothic foundations. The facade is decorated with decorative neobarical elements, such as pilasters, forks and shambles, which copy decoration from around 1740. The house has two floors with six window axes; the original arch was walled up during the reconstruction. The facade is broken down by pilasters and mascarons that supply vertical dynamics. The windows of the first floor are framed by shamrans with ears and indentation ornaments. The second floor was built in 1891 according to the project by Jan Glář, which meant another change in the architectural appearance of the house.

Owning and managing the White Swan house has been changing over the years. The house was rebuilt by Václav Crane after Michal Salaj of Cifra in 1734, followed by Karel Čapek and Antonín Kopřiva, which opened the pharmacy "The Black Eagle." After the fire in 1877, the house was repaired by Victor Adam, who was the oracle of the arch. During the 1920s, the building became a pharmacy of the family Štorch and later Jaroslav Pokorný. These changes reflect not only the architectural but also the social development of the area.

The key events include the massacre of cologne citizens on May 4, 1945, when a tragic incident with the death of 12 people took place at Dr. Edvard Beneš Square. The plaque was revealed in 1968 as a reminder of this drama. Another interesting feature is the installation of a copy of five baroque vases on the roof of the house, highlighting historical value and careful preservation of the monument.

Today, the White Swan House boasts its historical roots and architectural changes that reflect the rich past of Cologne.
