Dům Zlatý jelen is a classicist house in Karlovy Vary, located in the urban monument zone in the slope above the Old meadow on the address Luční vrch 358 / 4. It is a smaller two-storey house with a brick-filled ground floor and a raked floor. Disposable solution is two-way with staircase by street and room oriented south towards Old meadow.

The house was built in late Baroque and early Classicism. The facade is oriented from the slope, in the ground floor decorated with belt rustic and shamrans around the window openings. The floors are separated by profiled ledge. The main facade is four-axis and the object is covered with a counter roof with a slight inclination and dominant direct atics. The roof cover is a forged sheet.

The house is remarkable as one of the last preserved played buildings in the centre of Karlovy Vary. In close proximity to the house there were still two late Baroque houses, but they were demolished in 2000. Dům Zlatý jelen is one of the few monuments that survived from that time.

The external layout dates back to 1883. In 2015- 2020, the building was reconstructed and declared a cultural monument in February 2022. Currently, the house is registered as a privately owned building. The house has preserved its intricate appearance from both exterior and interior. In the interior there are preserved layout and numerous artistic craft elements.

Dům Zlatý jelen is worth visiting not only for its historical value, but also for its unique architecture and barbed construction. It is remarkable as the last preserved raked building in the centre of Karlovy Vary and is worth visiting anyone who is interested in the history and architecture of this city.

Welcome to Karlovy Vary, where history and architecture form a unique symphony. You're standing in front of the Golden Deer House, proud of its remarkable construction and rich past. Is this smaller two-storey object with a walled heel of interest to you? Let's take a closer look at his beauty.

Dům Zlatý jelen has its roots in the late Baroque period, namely in 1750. This historical context reflects the time when Karlovy Vary evolved as a therapeutic metropolis and architecture reflected wealth and taste of the time. Although the particular creators of this work remain unknown, their work shows the masterful art of the then builders.

The architecture of the house is fascinating. Take a look up at the two-storey object with a barbed structure and brick filler that forms the palate. The layout is two-way, which means that you have a stairwell along the street and a room track oriented towards the Old meadow. This adjustment not only provides functional space but also contributes to the aesthetic value of the building.

Although there is not much to know about the specific personalities associated with the Golden Deer House, it is clear that this monument witnessed many changes. In 1883 there was an external modification which reflected the need to keep the object in line with time. However, it was not until 2000, when two late Baroque houses were demolished, that a new chapter began here. The reconstruction in 2015- 2020 brought the restoration and rebirth of the Golden Deer House, which was declared a cultural monument in 2022.

The interesting thing about this place is that Dům Zlatý jelen represents one of the last preserved games in the centre of Karlovy Vary. This architectural specificity makes it not only historically important but also visually exciting for every visitor. It is a witness to the past and yet remains a living part of the city.

Now I encourage you to immerse yourselves in the atmosphere of the Old meadow and explore the other beauty of Karlovy Vary. This house is just the beginning of your discovery of this historic place. Whether you go to the city streets or look at the surrounding landscape, Karlovy Vary offers many surprises and engaging stories.

Thank you for your visit Dům Zlatý jelen. I hope this guide inspired you to explore this fascinating city again. When I see you in another historic place!
