The Fojtství in Velké Karlovice is a wooden structure that served as the residence of the fojt in the Bzové valley. Built in 1793 by master carpenter Jan Žák, it is one of the most prestigious objects in the village. Since 1958, it has been a national cultural monument and was declared a national cultural landmark in 2010.

The original fojtství likely differed from its current form. A major renovation took place in the 19th century, resulting in the current wooden structure built by Jan Žák in 1793. The building style features a patrový, obytný roubený dům with pavlačí supported by sloupky and forming vyřezávané ploché kuželky between them.

Throughout its history, the fojtství has been owned by several families. Jura Hudeček was the first recorded fojt of Karlovic, who received the fojtství as a reward for his loyal services to the Žerotín family. The building then passed through the hands of the Billa and Zrůnek families before being acquired by František Borák in 1876.

The office of the fojt was abolished in 1848, marking the end of an era for this historic structure. Despite this, the fojtství remained an important symbol of the village's history and culture.

Today, visitors can explore the fojtství and its surrounding landscape, which features the Bzové valley and other monuments within a 5 km radius. The monument is worth visiting to gain insight into the social and economic changes taking place in Bohemia and Europe during the late 18th century.
