You are standing in front of a unique architectural monument, which we call the voice at the castle Chotěbuz. The first thing you're probably interested in is its very special and distinctive shape. If you look up, you will notice that the tower is not equal, but it gradually narrows as it rises up. We call this shape a chamber cone. It is a fascinating view that gives the construction some dynamism and stability at the same time. Feel her presence in space and imagine how this tower dominated the surroundings centuries ago.

Let us now go back in time together to understand why this building was created. It was built at the turn of the 1930s and 1400s. So imagine the early Middle Ages when castles and locks were primarily places of defence and security. This brick structure was not built for beauty, but for a specific purpose. It served as a protective element within the entire castle area. Its main function was supervision and early warning of impending danger. The Guardians who served here had a perfect view of the surrounding terrain from a height, making the voice a key point in the defence system of the entire mansion. It's fascinating to think how many generations of people have looked out for the horizon over the centuries and guarded the peace of this place.

Now pay attention to details that you can observe right now. Look at the surface of the tower. Note that it is well cast. You might expect a rough stone, but this look is the result of later modifications. It was in the nineteenth century that the construction was plastered, which gave it a much softer and cleaner look than it probably had at the time of its creation. If you look at the walls, you'll see windows. However, it is important to know that these windows were not originally here. At a time when the sound was fully functioning as a defensive structure, there were shooting sites. They were narrow crevices that allowed the shooter to attack the enemy while they themselves remained safe behind thick walls. Later replacement of shot windows indicates a change of function of the building from purely military to rather representative or economic. The entire tower reaches a height of 17 meters, which is still a very significant element in the context of local architecture.

Speaking of the history of this building, we can't ignore the seventeenth century period. In the year one thousand and six hundred and fifty, there was a man named Nicholas the Elder Rudzky of Rudz. He was the one who made sure that this tower didn't succumb to the tooth of time. This year, he had the voice repaired and, above all, he had it covered. Imagine how important it was at that time to protect the upper part of the tower from rain and snow so that the masonry wouldn't fall apart. Thanks to the activity of Nicholas Rudzký, the construction has been preserved for us and for future generations. It is a reminder that monuments are not only about who built them, but above all about who cared for them over the centuries.

Now I want to take you to a few interesting things that are not visible at first sight, but which make the voice a truly special place. Look again at the tower base. You may be surprised that the lower space of this defensive structure was not only of practical or military importance. He served as a chapel for the people of the castle. It is a very beautiful contrast that in one building a strict defensive function has been combined with a spiritual sanctuary. Imagine the quiet and quiet in this little chapel, while upstairs, on the upper floors, there was a tense guard and surveillance.

And if you had the opportunity to step into the inner space, you would have a small physical performance. A total of five and fifty stairs lead to the view, which is located at 10 metres high. It's not a huge amount, but in the narrow space of the tower, it creates a sense of climbing into the unknown. Imagine that feeling when you walk out of all the stairs and the panorama of the area spreads out in front of you, just like it spread out in front of the guards 700 years ago.

Hláska u zámku Chotěbuz is today protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. This means that it is recognised as a valuable piece of our history that we must protect. Even in modern times, the construction was taken care of, for example, in the year two thousand and four there was a major reconstruction that helped to ensure the stability and preservation of this unique building for years to come.

This tower is a silent witness to the transformation of the times, from the medieval guards, to the Baroque repairs of Nicholas Rudzky, to the 19-way modifications of the facade.
