Hřešihlavy Castle is a baroque structure located in the village of Hřešihlavy near Kladruby, within the Rokycany district. Built in the latter half of the 18th century by Ferdinand Maria Rummerskirchen and his wife Marie Alžběta, it has been recognized as a cultural monument since 1964. This historical site is notable for its architectural style and regional significance.

The origins of Hřešihlavy Castle date back to the latter half of the 18th century when Ferdinand Maria Rummerskirchen commissioned its construction. Historical records indicate earlier mentions of a fortress in the area during the 17th century, linked to the Běšin family. By 1706, Jan Tobiáš Běšin sold the estate, and by 1734 it was owned by the Rummerskirchen family, who transformed it into the baroque castle seen today.

Architecturally, Hřešihlavy Castle features a three-winged ground floor structure. The entrance façade is concave, adorned with lizenes and bossage, reflecting typical baroque elements of grandeur and detail. Visitors enter through a simple portal topped with the Rummerskirchen family crest. The castle has a mansard roof, with a distinctive two-story section above the main entrance that culminates in an ornate gable. A rizalit on the north façade once housed a chapel, adding to its historical and architectural significance.

Throughout its history, Hřešihlavy Castle has seen various owners and undergone significant changes. Notable modifications occurred during the early 19th century. In the mid-20th century, it was adapted for residential use, reflecting changing needs over time. The castle also served as a storage facility for the National Technical Museum in Prague.

The surrounding area includes a southern park enclosed by an embankment wall with two gates featuring semi-circular arches. To the north, farm buildings border a large courtyard, and nearby stands the church of Všech svatých, which is protected as a separate cultural monument.

Today, Hřešihlavy Castle remains accessible to visitors interested in exploring its rich history and architectural beauty. Its status as a cultural monument underscores its importance within regional heritage. Visitors can appreciate not only the castle itself but also the serene park and historical church nearby, making it a worthwhile destination for those keen on experiencing Czech history firsthand.

Hřešihlavy Castle offers a glimpse into the past with its baroque architecture and storied history. Its preservation as a cultural monument ensures that future generations can continue to explore and appreciate this remarkable site. Hřešihlavy is a castle in the village of the same name near Kladrub on the Rokycansko. It was created in the second half of the eighteenth century and its grounds have been protected as a cultural monument since nineteen sixty-four.

A manor residence had stood here earlier, though. According to historian August Sedláček, there are mentions of a fortified farmstead from the seventeenth century, when the village belonged to the Běšin family from Běšiny. The last of them in Hřešihlavy was Jan Tobiáš, who sold the estate in seventeen oh six. In seventeen thirty-four, the Rummerskirchenové became the owners. Baron Ferdinand Maria Rummerskirchen and his wife Marie Alžběta then had a baroque castle built.

The building continued to change, especially in the first half of the nineteenth century. Further major modifications came in the second half of the twentieth century, when the castle was converted into apartments. The National Technical Museum in Prague also stored its collections there, using it as a storage facility.

The castle is a single-storey building with three wings. The entrance facade has six window axes and curves inward. It is decorated with vertical pilaster strips called lisenes and plaster imitating ashlar masonry, called rustication. A simple portal leads inside, above which is the coat of arms of the Rummerskirchenové. The building is covered with a mansard roof. Above the entrance, a storey with two window axes rises from it, ending with a gable with a wavy outline. On the courtyard side, the main wing is emphasized by a protruding section, which once contained a chapel.

On either side of the castle, a boundary wall of the park runs with two gates, which have a semicircular arched entrance. The park lies south of the castle and the north side of the large courtyard is closed by farm buildings. On the edge of the park stands the Church of All Saints, which is protected as a separate cultural monument.
