kaple Panny Marie Sněžné pod Hvězdou Chapel
The Chapel of the Virgin Mary Snow under the Star, which is also called the Snow Chapel, stands at the foot of the Broum walls in Křinice in the settlement America. It belongs to the Broumovska parish and it is one of those places that the турист must literally climb - a staircase leads to the chapel with 320 steps leading to the top of the stone walls.
The beginning of the chapel dates back to the beginning of the eighteenth century. The Baroque building was built in 1709 by the Broom Councilman Ignaz Zinek. The exact reason for its creation does not indicate the foundation, but the dedication of the Virgin Mary Snow and its location to the strategic location below the rocks suggest that it is an expression of the godliness of the local community.
But the fate of the chapel was not without complications. In 1786 the chapel was abolished - the reasons remain unspecified in the background. This condition lasted a long sixty-four years until it was reconsecrated in 1850. In the second half of the twentieth century the chapel was gradually carried out by aging and neglect, until in 1997 its reconstruction took place, which put it into a more readable state.
One of the problems recently was the absence of the statue of the Virgin Mary, which should be the inner heart of this Marian chapel. This changed in 2011 when the municipality of Křinice acquired the statue of the Virgin Mary and secured its consecration through the Boroman Dean P. Martin Lanžim. This act was supplemented by the inner equipment of the chapel.
There are no regular services in the chapel these days. Yet it remains a meaningful place - both as an architectural landmark linked to local history and as a target point for those wishing to climb 320 steps to the top of the Broum walls. The view from here and the very touch of the historical power of the place makes it an adequate offense to Broumov's past.

The Chapel of Our Lady of the Snow under the Star, also called the Snow Chapel, is a Roman Catholic chapel in Křinice. It belongs to the Broumov parish.
It is located at the foot of the Broumov Walls, in a settlement with an unusual name, Amerika. From there, a staircase with three hundred and twenty steps leads to the top of the walls, where another chapel dedicated to Our Lady of the Snow stands.
A Baroque chapel was built here in seventeen hundred and nine by Ignaz Zinke, a Broumov town councillor. In seventeen hundred and eighty-six it was closed, and it was not consecrated again until eighteen hundred and fifty. It underwent reconstruction in nineteen ninety-seven.
For a long time, a statue of Our Lady was missing from the chapel. The municipality of Křinice therefore purchased one and had it blessed in two thousand and eleven by the Broumov dean Martin Lanžim.
Regular services are not held in the chapel.

At that time there lived people from different sides of Europe who came to Prague to work or to King Wenceslas IV, who wanted to expand his territory. To safely move around the city and protect themselves from dangerous attacks, they built a fortress with high walls.
