Kaple svatých Cyrila a Metoděje Chapel
Kaple svatých Cyrila a Metoděje stands directly on the baits in the Dolní Vilímeč cadastral in the Jihlava district. Long term belongs to the Roman Catholic parish of the New Reich and is the property of the New Reich monastery. Since 1972, it has been registered in the national list of cultural monuments under the identification number 36038 / 7-4808.
The chapel was established in 1728, when it was erected on the baits as dedicated to Saint Cyril and Methodius. This choice of patrons is not random - saints are reminiscent of the expansion of Christianity in the Slavan countries and their cult was permanent in Czech landscapes. The construction for more than 300 years remains the original property of the New Kingdom monastery.
During its long existence, the chapel has undergone several repairs to ensure its preservation. Construction interventions were carried out in 1883, 1907 and in the immediate past in 2018. These reparations allowed the construction to remain in a reasonably good condition until now.
From an architectural point of view it is a typical set of elements of Baroque sacral architecture from the older stage. The construction is walled and plastered, with the main ground plan of the rectangle and a characteristic semicircular conclusion. The facade compartmentalizes low suspicion, lizenas - rectangular pilasters - and distinctive profiled main roms. The side walls each have one window in the shampoo (oblique reclining), recessed by the edge bar, a parapet ledge and a segment enchantment.
The entrance facade is decorated and композiционne hierarchized. There is an entrance in the axis which is decorated with a rail and a gem. A belt with a curved volut and a segmented engine rims is shown in the upper deck. The top of the facade closes the baroque volute shield with lizenas; In the axis of the shield opens a Kasula window in the shampoo.
The solution of the roof is functional: above the boat saddle roof, above the finish (apsidou) valbic. From the ridge of the saddle roof, a four-sided bell tower with scuttled corners is raised, ending with a tent roof with a poppy and cross at the top - a traditional closure of sacral structures.
The inner space of the ship is carried by a Czech badge - an advanced arched ceiling without intersection - with stucco frame and mirror. The priestry is closed by a conquisted (approximately shell) vault. This decoration illustrates the care that has also been given to the inner equipment of the chapel, albeit on a small scale.
Today's chapel serves as part of the parish property and is protected just as a cultural monument. The visitor will find here an authentic example of the religious architecture of his time and can verify how the village chapel was built in the 18th century by Czech villages. / p >

The Chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius stands on the village square in Dolní Vilímec on the Jihlava region. It belongs under the Roman Catholic parish of Nová Říše and has been registered as a cultural monument since 1972.
The chapel was built in 1728 and dedicated to Saints Cyril and Methodius. Its owner is the Novoříšský Monastery. It underwent repairs in 1883, 1907, and 2018.
It is a freestanding brick structure with rendered walls. It has a rectangular floor plan, which on one side is closed off by a semicircular apse. The façade is articulated by a low plinth, vertical flat strips called pilasters and a profiled main cornice. Each side wall has one window with a decorative frame called a shambrana. The windows have a parapet cornice and are topped with a shallow arch.
The entrance is located precisely in the center of the façade. It is decorated with a molding and at the apex a keystone, which is the central stone of the arch. Above the door is a band rolled into volutes, spiral turns, and above it a broken segmental cornice. The façade is crowned by a Baroque scroll gable. This too is articulated by pilasters and has one window in the center in the shape of a chasuble, a priestly vestment.
Above the nave is a gable roof, above the semicircular apse is a hip roof. From the ridge of the gable roof rises a square belfry with beveled corners. It is topped with a tent roof with a finial and a cross.
The nave is vaulted inside with a Czech flat vault, a flat vault with a stucco frame and a smooth field in the center, which is called a mirror. The sanctuary is covered with a conch, a vault in the shape of half a dome.
Tips for visitors
The best time to visit the chapel of Saint Cyril and Methodius is early morning or late afternoon - the light is soft and the visitors are less, allowing a quieter tour and better photographic conditions. Take a comfortable shoe, bottle of water, or umbrella or raincoat - the chapel stands in an open environment and the weather can be variable. We also recommend to have a map or mobile with offline map area. Photography is the most interesting front facade with Baroque details and in the interior at the altar, where the noon sun penetrates through the windows and creates dramatic light. Respect the peace of mind and do not use lightning. It is advisable for families with children to plan a shorter tour, while you can use the surrounding nature of the Lower Vilímeče to relax and play. There is no other tourist place nearby, so you can concentrate on the chapel itself and local village peace.
