The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Vlkoš is a Roman Catholic parish church built in the late Baroque style between 1773 and 1780. He later became buried in the crypt of the unfinished church, which was discovered to contain human remains and fragments of decorative textiles during a later exploration. The church's completion came seven years later, culminating in its consecration by Milotice dean Bartoloměj Goltman in 1780.

Architecturally, the Church of the Assumption is characterized by its late Baroque style, featuring a single nave and a prominent position that makes it a central landmark. The design includes a staircase with 25 steps leading to sculptures of Saints Cyril and Methodius at its base, symbolizing their historical significance in spreading Christianity. Additionally, a small chapel dedicated to Saint Florian is situated about 15 meters from the main entrance. Inside, notable works by Brno sculptor Ondřej Schweigl include the main altar, pulpit, and baptismal font, while Jesuit painter Ignác Raab contributed an image for the main altar.

Throughout its history, the church has undergone various changes in ownership and administration. Initially part of a larger parish system, it became a focal point for local religious activities. Significant renovations were undertaken by Kyjov architect Eusebius Cibulka between 1903 and 1904, which included both structural improvements and aesthetic enhancements. The church faced challenges during World War II when it sustained heavy damage from artillery fire in April 1945. Despite this, the community persevered, leading to a comprehensive restoration of its roof, façade, and interior between 2001 and 2003.

Notably, during World War II, it suffered significant damage but was later restored to preserve its historical and cultural value. The church's resilience is further highlighted by its ability to maintain regular services over the years, with current worship times held on Sundays at 9:00 AM and Thursdays at 6:00 PM.
