kostel svatého Bartoloměje (Hostouň) Church
The church of St. Bartholomew is one of the oldest buildings in Hostáň. For the first time, the church and the parish in the village are mentioned in written records from 1352 in the Papal tithes registers, suggesting a significant status at the time. The original Gothic building served believers for more than 300 years; it was used alternately for both Catholic and attractive services.
There was a fundamental change in the early 18th century. The church was completely rebuilt in Baroque style by Saint Joseph Mayer of Mayern. Thirty years later, in 1773, a tower with an onion roof was added to the west facade, which replaced the original wooden bell tower. The tower is a typical Baroque building with a lantern on top and bears the sign of the initiator of the reconstruction - Probošt Mayer.
The current building is a one-ship Baroque building of interesting architectural details. The boat has slightly rounded interior spaces, its ceiling is flat and decorated with high Fabion with decorative festons. The priestry is also rounded from the outside, three-sided from the inside and surrounded by Czech flat. The Arc of Triangle, which separates the ship from the priestess, has a segment shape. Above it is clearly visible sign of Probošt Mayer - a reminder of the man who gave the church its present form.
Bogaty interior is no less remarkable. The main altar is the painting of St. Bartholomew, patron saint of the church. The apostle is depicted in a traditional way - with a knife in his right hand, while an angel with a palm tree appears to him on the left. There are two other altars on the sides of the victory arch: one dedicated to St. Barbara, the other to St. John Nepomuk. By the side wall there is an altar with a cave, in which is a statue of the Lourdes Madonna, which was brought from Paris in 1893. In the same year, the statues of the saints Peter and Paul were also published, which today stands in the side gates at the main altar.
The history of the church is also linked to the living conditions of the village. In the immediate vicinity of the church was originally a cemetery, but its capacity was insufficient during the cholera epidemic in 1832 and had to be extended. At the beginning of the 20th century, a new cemetery area was built outside the building, and the old church cemetery disappeared from use.
Today the church has been registered as a cultural monument since 1967. Since the end of 2008, he has been only a Filipino Church of the Unhostian parish. Mass takes place modestly - only once every three weeks and only during the summer period. Yet he kept his breath, history in stone and a rich collection of art artifacts from the past centuries.

The Church of Saint Bartholomew in Hostoun is originally a Gothic structure from the 14th century. At the beginning of the 18th century, it was rebuilt in the Baroque style and has been registered as a cultural monument since 1967. Until the end of 2008, it was a parish church, after which it became a subsidiary church in the Unhošť parish.
The first written mention of the church and parish in Hostoun comes from the registers of papal tithes from 1352. The very existence of the parish shows that the community had considerable significance at that time. The original Gothic church served until the beginning of the 18th century, alternating between Catholic and Utraquist services. Then the provost of Saint Vitus's Cathedral, Daniel Josef Mayer von Mayern, had it completely rebuilt in the Baroque style. In 1773, a tower was added to the western façade, which replaced the original wooden bell tower.
Right next to the church there used to be a cemetery. During the cholera epidemic in 1832, its capacity was no longer sufficient, so it had to be expanded. At the beginning of the 20th century, a new cemetery was created beyond the built-up area of the village, and the old one by the church fell out of use from that time on.
The church is single-naved. The interior space of the nave is gently rounded and the flat ceiling transitions into the walls with a high arched trough, which is decorated with festoons, ornamental garlands. The chancel is also rounded from the outside, but inside it is triangular and vaulted with a Czech barrel vault. Above the segmented triumphal arch, the coat of arms of Provost Mayer von Mayern, who initiated the Baroque reconstruction, is clearly visible. The Baroque tower has an onion dome and at its very top it is crowned with a cupola.
In the center of the Baroque main altar hangs an image of Saint Bartholomew, to whom the church is dedicated. The apostle is depicted as is customary, with a knife in his right hand, and an angel with a palm appears to his left. On either side of the triumphal arch stand two more altars, one with an image of Saint Barbara and the other with an image of Saint John of Nepomuk.
By the side wall is an altar with a small shrine and in it a statue of the Lourdes Madonna, which was brought here from Paris in 1893. In the same year, statues of Saints Peter and Paul were also brought from Paris. These stand in the side niches by the main altar.
